I am all about 80's, 90's movies.
Those are my favorites.
No specific Genre, just
the feel,
the one liners,
the background music,
the doesn't make no sense why anyone would have sex at this moment,
you knew the bad guys by their majestic hair or scar,
suspense films made for adults,
kids being the star,
the just a little outside bad acting
Personally, I think the movies of the 60s were the best closely followed by the films of the 70s and 50s. I wasn't born during any of those three decades. The films of my childhood and teen years (80s and 90s) were mixed, some good ones, some bad ones.
I don't like 70's films much, obviously some standouts but many of them have a depressing and slow feel to them.
80's films can be fun but especially the teen ones can be pretty empty plot wise.
90's films for me are reliable.
I actually prefer films from the late 20's through to early 60's the most.
Edit: In terms of films from 2000-2010 some are ok, after that I tend to lose interest.
No. Okay, the "decade of my youth" would be the seventies and/or the eighties, and I know the Seventies are supposed to be considered some sort of Golden Age of Film but I'm not very nostalgic about the major films of that era, or the films that obsessed me as a stupid kid.
Oddly, I keep finding that in addition to my love for films from the 1930s, 1950s, and 1960s, I'm nostalgic for the films of the 1990s, an era when I was edging into middle age. Either it was a really great decade for films, and I'm the only ones who appreciates that fact, or I'm nostalgic for a period of my life that wasn't much fun at the time...
I love films from the 30's to early 60's. The look of them, the scripts and acting. So much subtext as well, given censorship of the times they manage to convey a lot without straight up being able to show it or have characters say/spell it out.
