What do you think of child nudity in films?

What do you think of child nudity in films? Personally, it doesn't bother me at all. There are some really good films with child nudity in them. There are several instances where the story may require child nudity so I can see valid reasons for it. I don't think the human body should be viewed as inherently sexual or dirty, so there is nothing immoral or wrong about nudity of any age in films. What do you think?

(Note: I'm asking this as a movie related question and not in any kind of sexual way, so don't call me a pervert or dirty old man.)

reply

No nudity if they're minors.

reply

Why not?

reply

Because we as a society have decided, for good reason, that children are not able to make certain decisions for themselves. Exposing yourself, especially for a commercial purpose, is something only an adult can decide for themselves.

Children should als be protected from those who have ulterior motives and not so good intentions.

reply

Some people in some parts of society have decided that, but not everyone is in agreement. Some societies have no objection to child nudity. Nudity should not be viewed as inherently sexual or for adults only. Nudity should be viewed as natural and normal. Most children can decide if they want to appear nude in a film. I do agree though that children should be protected from those with ulterior motives and bad intentions, but I don't think that forbids child nudity in films.

reply

A LOT of people have decided that, especially scientists who say that your brain isn't fully developed until your mid-20s. So I don't agree most children can make that decision. They're not able to understand the consequences of their actions. There's a big chance they'll regret that decision later in life. And how can you be sure it's their own choice and that they're not being pressured?

But how are you going to protect children if you don't have clear, well-defined rules? You can't guess whether someone has ulterior motives or bad intentions.

Point is, why take the risk? It's not like it's necessary. You can make your point without nudity.

BEST POST ON THE THREAD...WELL SAID.🙂

Seems to be common in European films. The stigma isn't there and people don't think much of it at all.

reply

True.

reply

It really depends on the context too.

reply

I agree.

I thought Brooke Shields was cute in Pretty Baby. Kinda like a lolita.

reply

Yes, she was a beautiful young woman.

NOT CLICKING THAT....YOU ARE DEFINITELY ON SOME GOVERNMENT WATCH LISTS NOW.

reply

Hell, the government is watching people for lesser stuff than child porn to see if we owned cigarettes or listen to us gossiping . We all have vintage famous movies that have a lot child nudity before religious folks get upset. I know that I owned one famous superhero released in 1978.The boy is not so hot. That boy grew up and says that he was teasing by kids in school. And there is other movie by spelling and goldberg starring Terri Garr and Michael Keaton. I did not think they look hot.

i read that in extra caps-lock

I am a little torn as child nudity doesn't bother me at all. I've spent a lot of time in countries where it isn't a big deal. I am part of a naturalist group and we have nude swims, nude hikes, and a nude beach for example, and there are almost always children present with their parents. I don't think that nudity is something sexual.

That's just my opinon.

I'm also well aware that there are many others in this world who don't feel the same way I do. I think that with film and pictures there are too many people out there with bad intentions. It's really a shame because there shouldn't be anything shameful, or perverted about it, but I don't think that having child nudity in movies is the best idea.

reply

Im against it.

I think it could be traumatic for them.

reply

defend your reasons why you want to see naked children so bad

reply

I wouldn't say that I want to see naked children, just that I have no objection to it. Nudity is a part of life and not inherently sexual. There is nothing wrong with a naked person in a film, male or female, any age.

reply

In the USA, the FBI would disagree with you and arrest you. The penalty for mere possession of child pornography is 6 to 8 years. You are required to serve 90% of that sentence, before possibility of parole. Years ago, the penalty for possession for child pornography was a mandatory 10 years in prison.

reply

Sorry, but that is incorrect. Nudity is not child pornography. There are lots of films from all the over the world, including Hollywood films, that have child nudity. There are legal websites that have child nudity.
