Do you like thunder storms?

On our 3rd thunderstorm in 3 days. I love them 😊

reply

When I'm home during them yes, it feels kind of cozy
Driving through them is risky business though

reply

I love the way the air smells after a storm in the summer.

reply

I like counting the number of seconds between the flash of lightning and the clap of thunder, so I know how near or far the storm is.

reply

I do this too.

reply

it usually means the end of a heatwave here in toronto which is good. it they are too bad we can lose the power which is not good.

reply

As a long-time veteran of living in Tornado Alley, I'm not a fan. Every storm that shows up makes me nervous, even if it's a simple hot air-mass thunderstorm, rather than a severe one.

reply

Oh wow. Yeah I think I'd feel the same!

reply

The silver lining to that is, I learned about thunderstorms and tornadoes in my spare time, and the benefits the storms themselves bring to the area, such as cooling off everything and bringing rain.

reply

Not really. They will creep me out a bit, especially if they come too near.

However, it is nothing compared to my sister's full-blown phobia of them.

One of our grandmothers had seen her neighbor's house getting hit by a lightning and burning down when she was a kid, so she also had a phobia of thunderstorms.

reply

No, but only because they freak out my dog, which creates a stressful situation. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't mind them at all. They're rare in my region though. Maybe one or two per year, tops. Some years there are no thunderstorms at all.

reply

1 or 2 a year? There are 1 or 2 a week where I live. Lol

reply

I do and they happen very often here
