If they reopen theaters in July, would you go

If theaters open in time for the releases of Tenet, Mulan, and Wonder Woman, would you go?

I would if they cut back on attendance, did the whole sanitizing thing and everyone was spread out in the theater. I realize though that's just me, what about the rest of you guys.

Personally I hope the theaters reopen so we can see those movies.

reply

I want to, but I'm in an at risk group due to a health problem I have.

Maybe if there is a limit on the number of people there and distancing is required. I don't know.

reply

That's fair and thanks for the response. I thought it was a good question cause I ask that with friends and coworkers and I get split responses on that. That's understandable given your situation, I would only go if they were going to limit attendance and sanitize like crazy.

Should they require masks though like everywhere else?

reply

Most people who go to movies aren't going to wear masks because that would interfere with stuffing their faces with overpriced snacks while watching the film.

reply

Just like me - part of the fun is to get a "buttered" popcorn and a large soft drink, so as much as I would like to go, I will probably pass on that.

reply

If I went, I'd wear a mask until I got to my seat, and at that point hopefully there would be a little space between myself and others.

reply

Hell yes I'll be going to the theaters the day they open. Social distancing or not. I ate inside a restaurant today and it was a fantastic feeling.

Looking forward to doing all of the things I enjoyed before c19 happened as soon as possible.

reply

Fantastic feeling eating out??? .lol. People act as though that was such a huge thing to lose from their lives. I went out everyday and really didnt miss eating out at a restaurant. I exercised instead and made my own meals.

I'm surprised how much people actually do eat out ....most apparently 40% of their meals out.

reply

I usually would eat out about 40% of the time. Yes it was nice being able to sit and relax inside the place.

reply

I'm surprised more people didnt do takeout. I saw lineups at fast food but actual quality restaurants no one barely there.

reply

I was doing a lot of takrout until dining in was allowed. But I was having breakfast, and in the time it would take to bring my order home my eggs and bacon would have been cold. And I tried door dash but same problem -the food was lukewarm.

I like eating a meal that is freshly made.

reply

Not a chance.

reply

Yes
I'm not scared and any excuse to watch Gal Gadot in a metal bikini is worth the risk!

reply

If there’s something I want to watch, absolutely. I would go tomorrow.

reply

I would absolutely go if there was an interesting movie.

reply

Yup. I figure my chances of getting covid 19 is no better or worse than getting a cold or thr flu. This is not some disease that kills most of us. It's mostly an inconvenience for healthier and younger individuals. But if one is in their late 60's and beyond and unhealthy. Yeah better avoid the theater.

That all said...I rarely go to the movies anymore....

reply

i honestly don't know. i definitely want to see tenet, and it would be very neat if they re-released some classic films to get people in the door.

but when faced with the reality of being in a room with people i don't know, in a chair where i don't know who's sat in in in the last 3 hours...as minimal as the risk may be, i'm not sure i'd actually do it.

reply

So it was ok before covid 19 now all of a sudden it is not??? I think this whole thing has turned everyone into paranoid germaphobes....sure the death rate is 3% but i sure as hell will not let it rule my life.

reply

well, yes... 3 months ago we were living pre-pandemic, and now things are very different. it's a serious situation, and i take it seriously and i think everyone should. i don't think that's paranoid. it's just treating the situation with an appropriate level of gravity.

maybe things will be different and calm enough in a month or two that i'll not be too fussed about doing the normal things i casually in february. but i don't know that right now.
