What famous people have you met?

I've met quite a few at celebrity events and such.
Just a few:
Martin Landau.---2015 in L.A. I had breakfast with him and he was yelling at the waiter: "No good, no good, this egg isn't hard enough, I need a HARD boiled egg. Now PLEASE!" So over the top, obviously still acting. He was funny. Later he went outside for a smoke. I guess when you're in your 80s you can do whatever you want. But had he quit he'd probably still be alive.
Barbara Eden- 2014--Chicago-- Just asked how her dog Djinn Djinn was and stuff.
Ed Asner-2017 Chicago.-- Met him while he was eating lunch: a tamale. He's funny too.
A few others:
Chuck Negron (of 3 Dog Night)
Kim Darby
Lesley Ann Warren
Robert Clary (Lebeau)
And 1994: Jay Leno interviewed me in the NYC subway for a segment for the Tonight Show that never aired. I don't really like him anyway (he's not as bad as Letterman though, but so far below Carson).
1994-- Sarah Silverman in NYC before she was famous handing out flyers for a comedy club. I said I wasn't interested. Then she started a kind of comedy bit at my expense (if you know her type of humor). I should have gone, oh well.

I was introduced to Johnny "The Wild One" O'Keefe in a NSW RSL Club back in the day. He was dressed in a bubble gum pink suit and didn't say a word.

Love David Crosby. Unfortunately his and Melissa Etheridge's son just died.

reply

Oh, one other good one: at the end of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), the Truck driver who threw the wrench in Leatherface’s face was at Frightmare also. I got a cap from him that says Black Maria Trucking. 😀

My stake to claim is D- material:

I once rode up an elevator with Bob Balaban in Las Vegas.

Balaban is awesome. Nice!

I've talked to George Galloway, the British politician, online. Well, exchanged comments is more like it; it wasn't a long in-depth conversation. He made a post about something, I commented something in response, and he replied to my comment and agreed with me. Unfortunately I don't remember what the subject was lol. This was several years ago.

That's about it I think. I don't live in an area where I would see well-known people face-to-face. I did once see a guy who looked exactly like Quentin Tarantino, but I'm... reasonably sure it wasn't actually him.

A friend of mine has seen Kim Jong Un in person though. Not met him exactly, they didn't talk, but he's seen him in person.

reply

Are you in the biz or live in Hollywood?

reply

No, I’m not in the industry...I live on the westside of L.A., I previously owned and operated a few businesses and they were customers...

reply

How were your interactions with Robert Rodriguez and Michael Keaton?

reply

Rodriguez was cool, he was definitely a regular and loved his film magazines, and was quite the cook if his selection of food magazines was any indication....just a cool guy and a bit quiet, would talk if I engaged him a bit on his reading material...told him I liked his interview show “The Director’s Chair” on the El Rey Network (the shows with Stallone, Tarantino and Luis Valdez were very good) and he was appreciative, and always wore his signature black cadet hat...

I was hoping no one would ask about Keaton, lol....let just say, well, uh....I liked him in Mr. Mom....no, really, he was okay, but one time he may have been in a hurry and suggested he would be appreciative of some preferential treatment...No “do you know who I am” stuff, just mildly suggested he was in a hurry....other times he was fine, and other employees have told me the same, so maybe he was in a hurry that day....like it’s said sometimes, maybe it’s best not to meet your heroes, though he’s not a hero of mine and celebrities don’t do that for me, but you catch my drift....but Keaton did have a reputation around the village where my business was located, and some people at a local coffee store said he could be demanding or difficult, to put it kindly....such a nice, everyman type guy in some movies I like with him, just recently rewatched The Paper (1994), he was great in that flick...

reply

Shame about Keaton. I guess people are people. No one has to be cool. It'd just nice to think an actor you like might be something like what ya see. Other than Batman, I've liked Keaton in pretty much everything he has been in. The Paper was great. Ever see his little cameo in Out of Sight?

reply

Yes, and thanks for reminding me...I’ve watched Out of Sight probably twice and it’s been awhile, time for a rewatch....
