Sad that that's how people are "coping"...

Gotta have Something to do... ;)
shareHe won't like it but lats have a barn raise type thing for the Obama Library while everyone is off. Kinda like that Lilies of the Field movie building the church.
shareUm, what?
shareBuild the library like everyone get together and do it like in Lilies of the Field or that Witness movie.

Why sad? You got a better idea? Smoking, drinking and fucking... why not?
shareLots of way better, more productive things to do. Behaving like an animal will get you nowhere.
shareOh it’s got me plenty of places! Don’t knock it til you try it “chilone”.
shareI've done it quite extensively and you know where it got me and all the alcoholics and drug addicts I did it with, without fail? Exactly nowhere (at best). Some of them didn't survive
shareI guess it comes down to s it better to burn out or fade away?
shareThe older one gets, fading away becomes more and more attractive.
shareMaybe someday. I still got that lust for life in me.
shareDude! I totally have a lust for life. I'm not super old, btw. The truth is, after I gave up all the bad shit in my life, my lust for life increased dramatically which is why I said fading away is cool. To me burning out is dying young. No thanks. Imma milk this cow for all she's got!!
shareI like your philosophy. That works too!
shareAdmittedly have dabbled in shit that has put me on a dark path, but managed to acknowledge it and get out. But smoking some herb? Its just good for my soul.
shareI try not to generalize too much but pretty much all of the pot heads I know have little to no ambition and are for the most part, at a stand still in life.
shareDude, you know all the wrong potheads. We’re a fun and peaceful bunch! Ambition for what?
shareLol. Talking to people who are high or drunk is like talking to a bunch of chimpanzees! If you're drunk or high it can be '"fun", I guess but you're literally shutting down your higher brain functions which make even stupidity "fun". People who are not in this state, generally don't enjoy herding cats.
Ambition? I dunno. To be a productive, self sufficient member of society?
clap clap clap
sharei sure enjoy drinking and smoking but never do it at home cuz this is how you become addicted easily, now with quarantine its even worst if you do it today you will do it tomorrow and after tomorrow and the day after... so i simply dont do it at all.

Ok Superhans
shareAlcohol is too strong of drug.
It just dehydrates me and the hang overs are deadly
Naturally.
The number of people smoking and drinking hasn't increased, just the time that the existing smokers and drinkers have to partake.
To me it's sadder that people choose to look down their noses at others during such a hard time. I hope everyone does anything they can to prevent themselves from going completely around the bend with so many restrictions on their personal liberties. Anything that keeps people mellow in a situation that breeds such frustration is not something I would choose to condemn right now.
So you feel that intoxicating yourself is the way to go? Oy... And by the way, smoking has become more dangerous than ever. It will increase the risk of you becoming really sick, if you catch the virus.
shareIf that's what I felt I would have said that.
To rephrase so you might understand, I choose not to judge how others cope with isolation.
You're right, smoking will likely impede your recovery if you contract the virus. At this stage there is only limited data to suggest that smokers have worse outcomes from COVID-19, but smokers suffer worse from all forms of respiratory disease so it's logical to assume it would be no different.
Alcohol also compromises your immune system.
shareI rarely, and I mean rarely drink, but the last couple of saturdays while partaking on our weekly zoom pub quiz /party game sessions I've been having a couple. I'm not going anywhere, why not have a drink?
