Wow! Thanks for those. It kind of reminds me of my storm chasing trips in Tornado Alley here in the US.
I've been on four trips, and seen 30 tornadoes, a few up close and personal.
Don't worry, you'll be okay, and things will return to normal eventually. I was thinking of visiting your country and New Zealand in March, but all the trips are full. So we tourists are still coming despite everything.

To clarify, the koala population has certainly been devastated, but they are not extinct just yet. The extinction process has been power-boosted though.
The RSPCA, other wildlife protection groups, and the general public have been working tirelessly to save as many injured animals as possible. The footage I won't share. The animals with their eyelids burnt shut screaming in agony is too much to expect others to witness, suffice to say they are images that I'll never forget.
This whole "oh it's just Australia, business as usual" attitude I expect from the idiots in government, but when everyday people deny what's in front of their eyes because of an underlying agenda, no time for it I'm sorry.

People need to see the horror to comprehend the Australia fires are not something to be dismissed! shareI'm old enough to remember the Ash Wednesday fires of the 80's and was close enough to the fires a few years ago to be on standby for evacuation.
Bushfires happen every year here. Are these ones very bad even by our standards, yes they are but they can't be claimed to be the only extreme bushfires we've ever had either.
Weird how the last few days they haven't been talking about this that much in the news.

I mean, I live in CA, where we have to deal with them every summer, but after seeing what Australia's going through, summer/autumn of 2018 in northern CA looks like a picnic by comparison. I have a friend on discord who's been filling me in on the fires over in Melbourne, and it looks really ugly.
Please tell me you guys are getting some international help. This is way too big a problem for just Australians to have to deal with alone.

We have had a lot of international help, especially from New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
The worrying thing is we still have two months left of the fire season. Just have to hope for the best.
