If The Irishman wins Best Picture I’ll buy all of you a beer
But why do I feel like Hollywood is gonna win?
shareBut why do I feel like Hollywood is gonna win?
shareI have tried three times to watch this movie and so far can't get past the first ten minutes without 1. being bored out of my skull and 2. not giving a rat's ass about the characters or what their story is or what happens to them.
shareIt's a great movie but ***SPOILERS***
They all committed a bunch of crimes and died of old age except for one guy that was shot through his head by his buddy...a very sad moment but at least it was quick
I'm trying...I re-subscribed to Netflix for the express purpose of The Crown season 3 (turned out not as good as the first two seasons) and The Irishman.
sharei'd say it's a bit of a toss up right now. hollywood probably has a bit of an edge, but i think that it, irishman, 1917 & parasite all have a plausible shot at winning.
i'd rather see parasite or hollywood win myself.
BECAUSE ITS THE BETTER FILM.
shareBing! ☝️
shareHow is it a better film??
shareITS BETTER IN EVERY CATAGORY EXCEPT DEPRESSING MOOD.
shareI respectfully disagree. Hollywood was very average and boring.
shareHow many times have you seen it and how many times have you seen The Irishman?
shareI’ve watched Hollywood twice and The Irishman like 7 times
shareYOU SAT THROUGH THE IRISHMAN 7 TIMES?...JESUS CHRIST...THATS LIKE HAVING A 3 HOUR PROSTATE EXAM AND ASKING THE DOCTOR TO GO AHEAD AND DO THE EXAM 6 MORE TIMES,AND WHY NOT THROW A FEW EXTRA FINGERS IN AS WELL.
shareThis is exactly what happened when I had mine done.

7 fucking times, man. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
shareThat’s maybe the exact opposite of my experience. I’ve seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood six or seven times (at least four times in the theater) and The Irishman twice. I never want OUATIH to end while I do like the Irishman a lot, I’m just not blown away by it.
shareAVERAGE AND BORING...THAT SHOULD BE JOKER'S TAGLINE.
shareI agree Kowalksi 👍
shareno comparison
shareI doubt The Irishman will win best picture. It keeps losing so far. It won no Golden Globes and only one Critics Choice Award for best ensemble and lost the Producers Guild Award. I don't expect it to win any SAG awards or to win the DGA, so it is unlikely to win any major Oscars.
shareYeah, sucks because it will lose to Hollywood
shareI think this year's Best Picture Nominees is one of the stronger ones of recent years.
For me anyone of The Irishman, Parasite, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, 1917, Marriage Story or Joker could win and I wouldn't be upset. If i had to chose one I'd go 1917, that film was so damn good.
I don't think Irishman will win. I think it's between Parasite, Once upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917. I think they give it to Tarantino to tick him off the list of great directors they've given Best Film too. Leave only Paul Thomas Anderson and Christopher Nolan left.
