Is Christmas the best or worst holiday?

I think it's the worst. I don't really enjoy it anymore. I much prefer 4th of July, no pressure, music and hot dogs on the grill.

reply

I love Christmas. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

reply

the best because of the time off - a full two weeks for us this year. Canada goes quiet except for retail.

reply

I won't say Christmas is the worst, but it can be the most stressful. I like it a lot more when I focus on putting up the tree, decorating, listening to Christmas music, and just relaxing. I stopped giving gifts a few years ago when it was no longer affordable as my family grew. Besides, these days most people seem to already have everything they want. It's almost impossible to figure out what to get them.

You're right about the 4th, though. Much more relaxing, and nicer weather, too!

reply

Christmas is great after Christmas Day. We don't work and we binge watch and go for a walk/coffee weather permitting.

reply

I love it. Lots of music and movies and it's far and ahead of any other holiday. Halloween doesn't really have many actual holloween movies, just horror movies in general. There also isn't many songs attributed to Halloween. Thanksgiving, Valentine's day and Easter is even less.

reply

Neither. I like Thanksgiving the best because it's always a nice 4 days off from work and no stress with gifts. Independence Day is my second favorite because it's near the beginning of summer -- my favorite season -- and for the fireworks. Christmas is third. I still like it for the decorations and for nostalgic reasons.

I don't know which holiday I would call "the worst". I don't dislike the rest, I just don't think about them much.

reply

I don't really care for Christmas because of bad memories of growing up. Between my senile grandmother, my alcoholic uncle, my bipolar other uncle and my control freak mother Christmas usually turned out to be a rather miserable day.

reply

That sounds rough...

reply

Sounds like you're justified in feeling that way.

reply

I love all the Christmas movies too like all the claymation stop motion ones. I still love The one with Rudolph and Yukon Cornelius. Also, the shiny new year that had the baby new year with the big ears. Also I watch Mr Magoo’s : A Christmas Carol several times in December.

My favorite is Christmas Day so I can sit on the couch and watch Ralphie about 5 or 6 times.

reply

I love the decorations, music, parties, but I hate the gift giving with adults. Presents should be for kids and adults should just get together and have fun.

reply

I agree with the gift-giving thing. Do it for the kids.

reply

It's a thin line between Love and hate

reply

I didn't want to say it here but I really dread Christmas. I hate it . I have my reasons .

reply

Completely understandable.
