Every Actor / Actress Page on MovieChat

Without fail, on nearly every actor or actress page there is thread titled "Gay" or "Are they gay"

reply

Are you gay? Am I gay? Is everyone gay?

reply

Gaaaaay...

reply

Almost the same with good and/or popular movies...threads with the title “overrated “....

reply

Yes😃!

'WORST movie ever, I want my 2 hours back,

reply

Like that's all that matters, "how can we categorize this person?"

I'll take being an individual any day of the week.

reply

^ This x 100

reply

There are too many individuals for categorization not to be a thing. And be happy you live in a world where there's a question asking if celebrities are gay on every single board, that's hilarious

reply

I hear you, there's plenty of categorization out there. It's helpful for the most part. To me, it seems there an unnecessary overemphasis placed on an actor's sexual orientation these days. How about, "How good an actor are they? How believable? How versatile are they from one role type to another?" That's more important, if you ask me.

reply

Haha That reminds me of old good IMDb boards

reply

Can't say I have seen that many. On the attractive female boards though there will often be a thread along the lines of "Drroooolz, I just wood luv to bang her, yah man ugg!"

reply

Then all the ones who say “I wouldn’t do her” about some movie star and you just know what the idiot typing probably looks like.

reply

In a lot of cases too the actress is attractive.Fair enough if they actually state a reason like "Yeah she looks good but her films suck/don't like her politics/she seems like an airhead etc" but when you just get those one line posts with no reasons given it is pointless. Same when someone says a film sucks or that they love a film, fine, but why??

reply

It´s an example of tall poppy syndrome. Calling a straight person, "gay" is a more subtle way of criticizing someone.

reply

That subtle subtlety is not that subtle lol.

reply

It´s subtle in the sense that they can´t be accused of hating on whichever actress/actor it is by putting it down to "curiosity".
