Do you like Robin Williams comedy or drama better?

He's funny, but when he does dramatic lines I'm more impressed. Some of his dialogue in What Dreams May Come are really impressive.

The consensus is that What Dreams may Come was the nadir of his career. I like the mix of comedy and drama as in Dead Poet's Society. Saying he's funny is the understatement of the century. He was the funniest man in history! But comedy and tragedy go hand in hand.

Well stated
With Night's post I thought of Good Morning Vietnam...Williams did his comedic, zany stuff for the radio bits but he brought some fine drama and acting during the dramatic scenes...To tell you the truth I saw this post early this morning (about 15 hours ago) and it's bugged me since...I think Williams is a legend that absolutely owned a comedic or dramatic role
Not a great answer but I loved the guy and he WAS awesome...too hard to choose

Nice to meet you Adam

The fact that people didn't like or understand 'what dreams may come' makes it all the more appealing to me. Sure, the hell scenes drag on and some of the storyline doesn't make sense, but there are some really beautiful scenes in this movie.

Williams hearing that his wife on earth had died is some powerful acting. Then learning that he won't get to see her. Wow.

He was a cartoon character, he seemed to love to make people laugh. How bad was his situation when he died? Money and health problems? RIP

We need a movie about his life and career

End it on a high note like queen movie

Who would you chose to play him?

reply

I have to go with his stand up comedy. He is a machine, a coked up unstoppable juggernaut.

reply

Both. I loved Robin Williams and for me he could do no wrong in either role. Miss him so much.

reply

Tough choice, but I'll go with comedy. Laughing is such good medicine.

reply

I never really cared for Robin Williams. His suicide was creepy. R.I.P.

reply

I can't choose between them.

As a comedian, he was brilliant. That mind of his going a million miles a minute.

As a dramatic actor, he had to slow down, and gave some outstanding dramatic performances.

Drama 👍. Ones that stick in my mind are Awakenings, What dreams may come, law and order SVU, Dead again, One hour photo. I always thought he was great at playing dark characters .
