I put in a case of Beer and some Rum...have a bunch of movies to watch and its going to be rainy and not very nice outside
Im doing movies and house chores all weekend...maybe take the family fishing on Sunday
I have a deal with StoneKeeper...we are both going to watch The Mansion on Netflix (it seems like a haunted house movie) so i need to watch it tonight
I will probably finish Sneaky Pete season 2 this weekend as well...Ribisi is fantastic as a conman
And probably my usual dumb slasher and drive-in trash:)
The rum is iced up and ready👍
Beers are on backup!
4.7 for a horror is only a bit below average...most horrors are lucky for about a 5-6 rating
Anyway, im cooking dinner now and will jump into The Mansion in about an hour
If you guys are looking for a good horror movie, you might want to check out 2014's "It Follows". I have not seen it, but it's rated 6.8 on IMDB, and 97% on RT.
After a couple of days of fall-like weather here, summer has returned. Had another great bonfire last night. Mr & Mrs Neighbor came over for a while, too. They headed north a couple of hours ago. Right now I'm sitting here, watching the skies darken as a serious storm system moves in. It could get exciting here. ⚡💧 I'll be playing window tag, too. I plan to watch a few more episodes of Midsomer Murders - I'm currently watching series 8, 1st episode. Oh, and I have The Princess Bride DVD ready to go, too.
You will love it im sure...good comedy and some very sweet parts...
I saw it in the theatre ages ago and yelled at a bunch of hoodlums in the row behind me for talking at the screen
Barely got out of that place alive lol!
Might go snorkeling tomorrow, even though the water temp is barely 70F. Had to get ice for my beer since the fridge is on the fritz. Warm beer should be illegal in my opinion.
Fugitives (Origial title: Begleci - Russian: Беглецы) - known also as Witch's key (Original title: Vedmin Klyuch - Russian - Ведьмин ключ) is 2014 Russian-Kazakh adventure thriller movie directed by Rustam Mosafir. Siberia 1907. In the wild taiga fleeing group of prisoners, among whom was a revolutionary Pavel Nechayev (Pyotr Fyodorov). On their capture of the tsarist police announced a reward. The convicts are caught and killed, with the exception of Pavel, who found refuge at gold-digger Vasiliy (Valeriy Grishko) and his silent wife Ustya (Elizaveta Boyarskaya) and later in a yurt Evenk witchdoctor
Good news is that the fridge is fine and it only needs a new gasket.
About the movie, I couldn't find it on any streaming sites, but its on Youtube and the quality looks good. I'm really into old military rifles and the movie features the M91/30 Mosin Nagant http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Fugitives_(Begleci)#Mosin_Nagant_M91.2F30
I love the old military stuff...I had an Italian Carcano 6.5 mm in my hands once (unfortunately famous for being The Kennedy gun in Dallas) but the guy had no magazines and wanted $80 bucks...i regret not buying it to this day
My buddy bobby had a WWII Japanese carbine for sale but man was it rusted and corroded to hell!
Again, i probably should have just bought the thing
That rifle in the pics is a beauty
The oldies are real pretty!
Ya Milsurp Rifles used to be literally dirt cheap. I heard you could order them through Sears Magazine in the 60's for next to nothing. Nowadays they're in the hundreds and are only gaining in value. About Mosins, the Russians might have invented them, but the Finn's made them better.
Oh yes...the older guys i hunt with speak of 'sporterized' milspec rifles quite fondly
They would saw down the stocks and switch out the barrels to reduce the weight
I never fired one though...
Yes, I practically live at the beach in the summer. We are an old fishing port community here. Thinking about getting a wet suit since the highest the water temp gets is around 70F give or take.
That sounds like you, Shogie, all the way. Your tastes are simple yet refined with an easy-going attitude.
I've haven't given my weekend plans much thought. I'd honestly want to crack open a new book series I've gotten recently called "The Darkness" by Harry Turtledove, a historical fiction author famous for creating what-if scenarios. Except these 6 books all talk about World War II in the context of magic and fantasy like 'The Lord of the Rings.' I'm starting to get into the 'Vikings' show, watched the first episode and it feels like it's going to have a "War of the Roses" vibe, lots of power struggles. I'm a little worried that I might be spending too much of my free time examining conflicts and fighting, haha!
Vikings is pretty cool...the writing is decent but sometimes the characters can act very stupidly
The battles get way bigger and better as the series goes on and i love the costumes and landscapes...its a well done series for the most part
Now, I'm really looking forward to the show, knowing you have seen it! I respect what you have to say a great deal even though we part ways in gore horror, which I will reluctantly watch with one eye closed and the other peeking out of morbid curiosity.
Sounds like a great weekend, Shogie. You do know how to have a good time. I'm going to see a movie tonight, either "Eighth Grade" or "Three Identical Strangers". Both received excellent reviews. I'll be back later with a full report on the one I decide to see.
