How do you like your eggs?

Sunny side up? Over medium? Over hard? Don't like eggs? Vegetarian?

Yesterday I watched a YT video on interesting ways to make eggs, and the guy doing the cooking almost always undercooked them, for my tastes, no matter how he made them.

I like the whites to be thoroughly cooked. If they're at all slimy, my gag reflex kicks in. I like the yolks to be more cooked than not, but a little runny.

You?

reply

Sunny side up for me Cat
I dont mind if the white is a bit underdone (i swipe up the goopy stuff with buttery toast)
Hot sauce too

reply

Urg, even reading the words "the goopy stuff" makes me a little gaggy :D. Just one of my quirks.

reply

I am sorry lol!
I was pretty sure that would not land well but just being honest:)

Probably not far from how you feel about sushi ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

reply

Apologies!!

Sushi...Oh i tried!
Used to hang out with a little group of fun people...sculptors, painters, artist types mostly and they were nuts for the Sushi
I became convinced they were all trying to kill me๐Ÿ˜†

I read about your brave and repeated attempts with sushi. You might like the cooked types -- shrimp, crab, teriyaki eel (it's delicious). No doubt you'd like a California roll. It's (cooked!) crab, avocado, cucumber, rolled up with rice and seaweed. Great for a hot summer meal.

If they didn't introduce you to any of those, they may have been trying to kill you!

reply

Much of that sounds great

Im certain they were out to get me lol๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

Omelet๐Ÿ‘

reply

Omelettes are (usually) safe ;). I've yet to have an undercooked one.

What do you like in yours, cheese, taters, shrimp, plain?

reply

Pretty much anything...a resturaunt in a neighboring county has a Philly cheesesteak omelet that is very good. And yeah...safe๐Ÿ‘ eggs tend to be slimy...and I hate slimy๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

A Philly cheesesteak omelette sounds great!

Ditto on liking pretty much any kind of omelette, and a big ๐Ÿ‘Ž on anything slimy.

You're probably on the same page as me with those Cadbury chocolate eggs that are the candy version of a soft boiled egg. What were they thinking?? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

reply

No runny candy. ..cherry cordials included๐Ÿ‘Ž

reply

I don't get runny candy either, but I'll take a cherry cordial over those disgusting soft boiled candy eggs ANY day!

reply

Oh my goodness...
How can anybody dislike the Cadbury Egg???
Its like we hardly speak the same language Cat

reply

Gotta go with cream eggs over cordials...runnier equals worse!

reply

I loved fried egg sandwiches as a kid. plenty of butter.

reply

Never had one. How do you make them so the yolk gets evenly spread around, or do you not bother with that?

I do like frying an egg, laying it on a piece of buttered toast, then cutting up the egg and toast into pieces, and spreading around the yolk as best I can.

reply

She used to break the yolk and melt some cheese. Very good snack after playing hockey in the winter.

reply

This is the video I saw.

I'm definitely going to try that first idea! May add a few other, different ingredients. It's genius!

reply

I watched this video and all I can say is that much of the time his eggs weren't done. Gag. Plenty of ideas for simple egg breakfasts, though. If I'm going to have eggs, which isn't often, I prefer sunny side up.

reply

Deviled, ideally.

Scrambled, or an omelette, as well.

reply

Hard boiled or soft boiled or scrambled. Not my favorite food however. Haven't had an egg in over a year.

reply

Another board member who isn't down with undercooked eggs, I suspect.

Eggs aren't my favourite food, but I eat them more often than you. More than before now that I live where there are 3 ducks and 2 chickens.

reply

I used to be able to find duck eggs in grocery stores, but not any more. What's up with that???

reply

Baby egg or "Egg in a cup"as it is sometimes known Catss.

But I'm all in for eggs in any way (As long as they are cooked well enough!).

reply

scrambled, that's the only way I'll ever eat eggs.

reply

Add some chopped scallions next time. Makes all the difference.
