Iconic Movie Structures...

Every so often a movie comes along that features a very specific house, shack, fortress or palace that just sticks in our heads for decades afterward...

I would like to mention the creepy old Cabin from Evil Dead (81)
You just knew that place would be trouble the minute Ash pulled his car up front and man it did not let us down :0

The real cabin burned down shortly after the Raimis finished the shoot and was located in Morristown, Tennessee...

Too bad too
It really just needed a good sweeping and some paint and love to make it real sweet for deer season and fishing trips!

Any favorite movie structures you would care to share?

How many 🍺🍺 have you had tonight? You're getting a little mushy.

I know I haven't been around as much lately, but I'm not going anywhere. I've just been really busy around the house. I really like this place. There's a lot of nice folks and we have fun! By the way, you're an all-star. Not so sure I fit that, but I'm working on it.

Looks more like a drunk Teletubby who just came home from the nightclub.😐

reply

Hm, is there a brown Teletubby??

reply

He looks kinda bronzed. Maybe a friend of Tinky Winky. You know, the purple one with the handbag.

reply

No, sorry. Teletubbies are not in my wheelhouse. I know of them, but they came along too late for my kids. So Tinky Winky carries a purse, hm? I seem to remember that a while ago there was a bit of an uproar over whether they were gay or not. πŸ™„

reply

That's correct! πŸ‘œ

Can I please nominate all of the Disney castles????

reply

You are really pushing it here lady!
If you name the most famous windmill in your country then yes...All of The Disney castles will countπŸ˜‰

reply

That isn't just one windmill, Shogie! All of the beautiful 19 windmills at Kinderdijk are famous, it's amazing how many tourists they draw. And they're like 30 minutes away from where I live!

reply

Very impressive and beautiful

Built for drainage...i get that...
Oddly, i had always thought the windmills were for grinding grains or operating other simple machinery
Very cool

I learn new stuff here on MC all the time;)

reply

We've got those too. But the Kinderdijk windmills form an impressive drainage system and they still work!

reply

Pretty much the whole town in 'Little House on the Prairie'
The Ingalls cabin, the schoolhouse, the Church and nearby General Store with the Brow beaten daddy and the mean Wife and Daughter

Pretty iconic!
Watched it every week with my little 'Sis

reply

Same for The Waltons

I remember almost nothing of this show except 'G'nite John Boy...'

I know my family watched it but i suspect Little House did the whole scene better

The courthouse in the Andy Griffith Show.

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, also known as The Overlook in Stephen King's The Shining. I have a horror fan friend in the Denver area who took a trip there several years ago and sent me some pictures via social media.

reply

The Overlook was amazing and spooky as hell
Good choice
