How many times a week do you get asked for directions by a stranger?
I get asked everyday especially when I am trying to relax. It's starting to annoy me. Maybe I get asked because I look like I a genius or something.😐
How about you?

Almost never, but when I go abroad I almost always get asked for directions, as if I look like a local.
shareIt hapenes sometimes when i walk to home and a driver ask me in what direction is that place...i found it suspicious more then once.
shareI worked in Lower Manhattan for 15 years near all the touristy stuff, so it used to be a daily occurrence. I also used to get asked to take pics for people all the time. I'm a fatty, so I guess they thought I was the least likely to run away with their camera.
It never bothered me. I actually enjoyed it because it gave me a chance to chat up people visiting from all over the world.
I was always asked when I was backpacking elsewhere.. Of course, those were some of the most popular international cities, so it wasn't a surprise, and I tried to help as much as I could.
When I was 22, I first went to Amsterdam over the New Years... It was about midnight, and I was lost, so I asked this girl who was on a bike taking a break. She pointed and said "Remebrandtplein is that way.. I think, I'm not sure, I'm a law student from Italy" and I thanked her, and we parted... A few minutes later, I see the girl coming from behind me, walking her bike saying "I'll help you find it" and we tried looking for 5 hours! We talked a lot (more than the "Before Sunset" movies!), we did stop to get a bite to eat, but it was cold, and it was so nice of her. When we finally got to my hotel, I asked if she wanted to come up to warm up, have some hot tea, but she was tired... Wish I would have kept in touch, I ended going to The Netherlands another 5 times, who knows.
I studied in Amsterdam for 4 years and even I couldn't give you directions to Rembrandtplein...
shareStratego is very popular there! About 10 years ago, I played it for the first time, and never played chess since...
shareThat's because it's actually a Dutch game! Despite using it as my username, I actually suck at it very hard.
shareGreat game
Never knew it was Dutch
Yeah, it was invented by some Jewish guy while in hiding during WWII and based on a similar French game.
It's a very frustrating game! That's why I use it as my moniker.:)
Its a perfect fit:)
shareThis is simplifying the game.. but I describe it like chess PLUS memorization, considering you can't see their pieces until there is encroachment, and I love that added dimension.
I had the game, but left it at a hostel in Australia.
Almost never
Pretty much everyone has a phone around here...no need to bug a stranger...
not much at all now with phones and GPS
shareYup. Once in a blue moon I still get asked. But back in the 90s it was almost a daily occurrence. And when I worked gas stations, it was basically part of my job.
shareI had a summer job back in the 80s with the City of Toronto Parks Dept and I wore a uniform - everyday someone would stop me and ask where some street was - I was 18 and barely knew my own neighborhood.
shareUm excuse me....can you tell me where I can find the nearest McDonald's?😛
