Do you like your boss?

I like mine well enough that ive been with her for 17 years...still, shes the kind of nut that forces you to call the union every couple of weeks on her but then sends a really sweet holiday card:/
Boss talk anyone..?

reply

Over my lifetime I probably have broke even on that. Half that I disliked and half that I liked. I found out through a mutual acquaintance that one of them wanted to me to come back to work for him even though I have been gone out of there for 16 years. He was perhaps the most devious so even for a good paycheck I would not go back even though he was not dirty rotten awful. I interviewed with a guy that my gut feeling told me he would double cross me and in the end he did. This man was the top boss with two layers of management between he and I. I had three female supervisors with one who imagined everybody (women included) was a sexual harasser, one that was neutral, and one who was somewhat sexually aggressive around me.

reply

Hmmm... Interesting...workplace sex is probably a bad idea...i never did that
Best to keep 'it' in your pants at the office!!
BTW...not certain of your gender...just talking 'in general...'

reply

I never did work place sex just for the record. A couple of places I had to wonder what was in the water as most of the female employees were sexually aggressive. Being married I figured I had to get out of the one place ASAP as everyday it seemed the women were making themselves more inviting. Funny thing is while at college for four years you would have I thought I spent 23 hours per day in solitary confinement as women seemed far more out of reach. I did have a couple hit on me within a month of graduation but I passed each time. I just did not have a good feeling either time.

reply

Yeah...sex at work=bad idea
My work freinds screw each other...but im married and very busy...not my thing at all...

reply

Well, our pole is only 3 feet. It still gets the job done. Nobody leaves our Festivus Festival without a few bumps and bruises!
MERRY FESTIVUS TO ALL! AND TO ALL, A GOOD BASH!

reply

Indeed!

reply

Do I like my boss? Not any longer!
Too much has changed in all of the years that I have worked for that company.
I understand the changes. I accept them. I feel for the people who aren't in my position.
I plan to retire in another month or so.
The problem is that there has been a big merger and things really have changed. The work situation is very different. Work is also moving to another town.
Our boss tries to make this sound as though all of this is a great thing. It may be that way for the company, and since this is a non profit organization, it may work out just fine for some people at the top.
The changes will not be good when it comes to many people who have been there for years. They worked hard. I was one of them.
With the way things are headed, I am happy to be out of it. I no longer feel as though I was appreciated. I have worked long and hard hours dealing with people with special needs. Now, the government is changing things. I only hope that these changes are beneficial when it comes to the people who need the help and education.

reply

Wow...sorry to heat it...
The special needs clients certinly deserve better!
As do you...i hope it works out and enjoy retirement...im jealous!

reply

The special needs clients are getting reasonably good deals out of the changes that are being made. The changes are a bit jolting for some of them, but things are progressing for them. There is a new program where many of them are getting out into the community. They are actually getting jobs!
Many of the production people who have helped them over the years are the ones who are getting the shaft. Part of my duties in this organization has no longer been required these days. I'm lucky to be old enough and able to retire at the end of this year. Many of my staff aren't so fortunate.
They may be old enough to retire, but they aren't financially able. Going out there to find something else is difficult after so many years with this organization.

reply

Wow
Im very sorry to hear that.
Best wishes tho...there are just so many lousy work stories...

reply

Thanks for your good wishes.
Things really do suck for so many good people these days.

reply

Other than myself, haven't had one for so long, I've more or less forgotten what it's like.

So my answer would have to be it depends on the day.

reply

Fair answer
Thx Cat!

reply

Yeah I do

reply

Thank you

reply

I love my boss, I would do anything for my boss, my boss is the best person in the world,
wait, I AM the boss of my company

reply

reply

I run a tight ship, they only like me on Fridays

reply

LOL! I'm still laughing!
I take it that they don't work weekends. That's GOOD! I don't work for you, but I like you!

reply

weekends were made for Michelob, I like you too

reply

You're talking my language!
Alas....... Monday Monday....
Four days to go!

reply

Nice...if only i was the boss!!!
Actually...its better that im not...

reply

No,i don't like her...she's yelling at workers for no reason, but so far i didn't had any problems with her.

reply

She yells at her employees? Not a good boss!
There are other ways to get people to listen and to get the job done!

reply

Well,the job is done...without yelling...

reply
