Songs you always associate with a film/show.

We all know music is integral to film and television. Also sound is linked to bringing up memories. So there are those songs that are used in such a way in a scene, that always make me think of the movie/show whenever I listen to them.

The most obvious maybe is Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel (Reservoir Dogs). With a scene like that how can I not link it with the movie, I mean...

CeCe Peniston - Finally (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert). I fucking love this movie! I also love the scene it was used in: the costumes, the choreography, the faces! everything about it is just great. Also, Terence Stamp can't dance for shit, and that makes it ever greater in my view.

Stevie Wonder - Superstition (The Thing). Starts funny, turns scary. Also, foreshadowing and such. Only song in The Thing and aptly used.

Sailing - Rod Stewart (Men Behaving Badly). Because that scene is hilarious, and the fact they are rowing makes it even better.

Too many to list! We have the radio on all day at work. Sometimes, if we are bored, we play this game.
Listen to the song and name a movie or a TV show you associate with that song.
I prefer to hear the song and then give the film or show.

I agree with Stealers Wheel. Also Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon (the original by Neil Diamond) and Pulp Fiction. I agree with Dazed that many of the songs Tarantino used keep that association with his movies.

Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult and Scream.

The Entertainer (Scott Joplin) and The Sting.

I know there's more, I just have a hard time thinking of any.

I was going to say Don't Fear the Reaper reminds me of "Halloween."

Yes, totally associate Don't Fear the Reaper with the stand. I can still picture that rolling shot as it was showing the destruction and playing that song. Good one to remind me of, thanks. :)

I remember a dreaded 8 hour bus ride, where the driver decided to delight us with this beautiful piece of music for the entire ride, almost on a loop. I still get flashbacks.

Yes.

I almost said Singing In the Rain from A Clockwork Orange.
I don't think the song was actually in the movie though, just Alex singing it as he let off a little steam on that couple.
