Personally I prefer alone. I go to a movie to watch, not talk. I especially can't stand those large groups of like 10 people who go see a movie together, walk in 10 minutes into the movie, take another 10 minutes to find their seats, all while talking and using their phone's flashlight, and continue trying to talk their friend who's 5 seats down from them.

shareIll go to see Star Wars movies multiple times by myself. Sin City I saw alone...course even with that I ended up sitting next to some dude I started talking to in line. So definitely with people. That way you have someone to talk about the movie with right afterwards.
shareDepends on the type of film. With Horror films, I tend to enjoy watching them with a big group, because it can be fun and exciting.
As for experimental, independent films I like to view them either alone or with my boyfriend.

shareAlone in the morning for cheap tickets unless I get invited or have a reason to go to a movie with someone else. (Example: lobbying a politican)
shareIt's fun to go with one other person, but since it's just sitting quietly in a dark theater, I don't see it as a very social thing. Either way, but I do like going alone. At least theaters here are all reserved seating.
