UPDATE: Ignore Feature

Due to popular demand, I dropped everything this morning and quickly implemented an ignore feature. You’ll now see an ignore button in the bottom right corner of each post that you may click to permanently ignore a user. Once ignoring a user, you won’t see any of his/her posts.

NOTE: I hacked this together very quickly, so it’s still a little rough around the edges. For example, there’s currently no way to un-ignore a user, so use this button cautiously. Few other quirks that I’m ironing out as well, but it should be functional now. Mods are coming soon as well.

"Due to popular demand, I dropped everything this morning and quickly implemented an ignore feature."

This sentence speaks volumes in that actually listening to legitimate suggestions made by the general consensus of members in any internet community and implementing them is crucial to a forum's long-term success. Long live MovieChat.org!

I never used an ignore button,,,but it seems it sure was wanted on this site. Thanks Jim!

flower it's a handy button if someone is harassing you all the time. I hate doing it, but I have the safety knowing it's there and I can use it if I have to.

Thank you, Jim for all your hard work. You are appreciated.
Throwing my hat in the ring if you need a mod for the Supernatural board.

Hi Jim - this is a great feature that I hadn't even noticed before. It gave me the ability to block an obnoxious troll who invaded one of my posts. However, after using it I saw that it not only eliminated the troll's post but also eliminated my original post. I assume that means that other users can no longer reply to that post. That seems to be going too far. Have others commented on this as well? Can that be fixed?

You do a great job on this site that legitimate movie lovers appreciate. I thank you for that.

Even though I didn't see a "please" in there, I'll give it to you anyway. I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass in ways I can't even guess at.
