WTF? Republican Lt. Guv of Texas says elderly are willing to die for our economy

Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick of Texas told FOX's Tucker Carlson last night that elderly across America are willing to die from corona virus if it means opening businesses and helping the economy. The 69 year old made the comments after T-rump declared he would consider 'reopening' businesses sooner than advised to save the economy.

“Let’s get back to work. Let’s get back to living. Let’s be smart about it and those of us who are 70 plus, we’ll take care of ourselves. But don’t sacrifice the country. Don’t do that. Don’t ruin this great American dream,” he said.

“So you’re saying that this disease could take your life but that’s not the scariest thing to you? There’s something that would be worse than dying?” Carleson asked.

“Yeah,” Patrick replied.

“No one reached out to me and said, ‘as a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the American that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’” Patrick said. “And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in.”

"And that doesn't make me noble or brave or anything like that," he continued. "I just think there are lots of grandparents out there in this country like me... that what we care about and what we love more than anything are those children."

He's right - it doesn't make him noble or brave, it makes him certified crazy. But this is the best the Republicans have - especially in Texas - and this part of the leadership people are supposed to look up to these days during a crisis.

I guess in Republican families they teach their children money is more important than the health and well-being of the loved ones in your family?

No link again? What else is new, yes? Just had to slant it some more and cherry pick only the parts that you wanted to show, yes?

What he's saying is simple. Like all parents, we wish our kids to be better than we are. We all wish their lives will be better than our own. Can this happen if our country's economy takes a catastrophic hit? It'll back date us for quite some time. That's not a good thing regardless of which side of the aisle you stand on. All he's saying is the older generation is willing to risk their health and impose themselves to a self-imposed quarantine for the health of our economy and for the benefit of our kids and grandkids.

You wouldn't understand this because you don't have kids, dogdump. In this case, it's a good thing you chose to sacrifice Independent thought over your virginity.

How come you idiot dems can't see that? Why is it more important to bitch about the naming convention of the virus, rather than the actual issues at hand? You idiots politicize minutiae because you're whiny sniveling snowflakes.

It's a strange, strange cult you belong to Shitman! Dying for your 401Ks (or as T-rump calls it: 409Ks)? WTF is wrong with you T-rumptards ?

reply

The cult of being a parent and wishing for a better future for my kids. Such a strange cult that is. You think it's about retirement savings, which is something you don't possess either, but it's about survival and health of the nation we live in.

Thank you for the link. Obvious leftist website you visit in order to give you an opinion that you cannot form on your own. Then again, what else is new, yes? Still nada. If you were only able to form a rational and independent thought every now and then, then maybe you'd be just little less stupid than you currently are. I know that's quite a reach for a crash test dummy, but as they say, reach for the stars!🤪🤪🤪

reply

So you believe your kids have a better future without you in their lives? WOW - that's really saying something. You sad human being.

reply

My child is 46, if something happens to me, yes he will be fine, but I'm sure he will miss me. Most people over 60 do not have small children to be responsible for.

If a depression were to happen the people over 60 would be the least productive segment of society. Before the corona outbreak all we heard from some younger generations is how useless Boomers are. I can only imagine what will happen if they suddenly have to be not only responsible for themselves, but older members of their families. That truly is comical.

reply

Thank you for providing some much needed perspective to the issue at hand.

reply

You base the Lt. Gov, words that all parents are going to die? You're not too smart, are you dogdump? READ your chepooka article and TRY to weed out the skewed and slanted biased sentiment and just LISTEN to what the Lt. Gov is saying.

Everyday in life, we make CHOICES. With those choices there is an inherent risk to the choice we make. Individuals decide upon themselves if those risks carry enough reward in making that choice. Because you have given up INDEPENDENT THOUGHT and chose the route of being indoctrinated and letting others choose your path for you, this concept is foreign to you. You've been indoctrinated to told only one path is correct and all others are wrong.

Like a lemming marching toward the cliff to your own doom, people shout at you to stop and turn back, but like the good zombie you've become, you continue to march without a thought to take them at their word for you own well being. For Igonorance is Strength!

reply

You base the Lt. Gov, words that all parents are going to die?

He said his senior constituents who are parents and grandparents are WILLING to die to let the economy succeed. You agreed.

reply

Show me where the Lt. Gov actually said this. I don't want what your leftist writer construed what he said. I want to see where the Lt. Gov actually said parents are willing to die to let the economy succeed. Not grandparents, but parents.

I still don't see the quote that you stated he said. You're an epic moron for not even watching or reading the proof that was supposed to back up your claim. Then again, what else is new? Still nada.🤪🤪🤪

reply

OK. I'm not teaching you reading comprehension today, so stay dumb.

reply

Ignorance is Strength. You had one simple thing to do, but you couldn't prove it. Instead, you had to fabricate the truth and skew it to your narrative and just came out and LIED about what the Lt. Gov said.

You are a straight up PROVEN and SHAMELESS LIAR.

reply

OK. I'm not teaching you reading comprehension today, so stay dumb.

reply

Ran out of wit already?

Notice how you once again, FAILED to defend yourself even after I called you a PROVEN and SHAMELESS LIAR? There's nothing to defend, is there because it's true. Pathetic.

reply

OK. I'm not teaching you reading comprehension today, so stay dumb.

reply

Yes right now,but in 10 years Texas will be all communist and that won't happen.

reply

I heard him on TV last night and I agree, (I'm 69) - at some point we will have to start going out and those of us who are at higher risk will have to find ways to deal with it,(which is probably a bad term, but I can't think of anything better.)

We simply can't destroy the economy and allow a depression to happen. The truth is most people will get the virus and will have mild symptoms and/or recover quickly. Right now the mortality rate in the US is around 1.2% - so you are willing to risk everything for 98.8% of the population for that?

If a depression happens the health and well-being of your loved ones will be a moot point. It will be a disaster for republicans and democrats.

reply

Are you a ventriloquist ?

You do like putting words into other people's mouths.

reply

What words did I put in other people's mouths ?

When a republican goes on television and says he's willing to put his life at risk for the sake of the economy, there's something wrong. The fact that at least 3 other republicans have agreed with him on this forum is insane. I can't believe republicans will put money first, and the health and well-being of loved ones is second. It's appalling.

reply

[deleted]

Again...it’s putting the economy first so our loved ones won’t have to suffer.

Ahhh - okay, and that supposed to make all the difference, I guess. Since you clarified, yes it's a good idea that seniors should be willing to take a chance with a deadly unknown virus to leave their children a good economy ?????????????????????????????????????????????

I can't believe the mentality of the Cult 45. I really can't.

reply

I guess it's okay for children and grandchildren to watch their elderly family members die. You know, to save the economy.

reply

[deleted]

That's because you're an whiny crybaby only looking for hand outs, rather than taking responsibility for others and yourself. Had you shown any iota of responsibility, then maybe you'd be able to understand what the Lt. Gov was talking about.

Then again, you had to go to your leftist website to give you an opinion rather than form one on your own. Crash test dummy, much?🤪🤪🤪

reply

You've plummeted to an all-time low.

reply

The only lives that Sandman27 and his buddies care about are the lives of the unborn. That's it. They don't care about any other people's live as is evident from their comments here. They are hippocrates. They are cheering when the elderly die as long as the economy improves.

reply

[deleted]

The flu kills 0.05% of people it infects. The COVID-19 virus kills 2% of people it infects. See the difference?

reply

[deleted]

You know what the difference between an unborn baby and a senior citizen is besides age is? It’s choice. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

If you had an ounce of Independent thought, you’d know that, but alas, you’re indoctrinated. Had you realized what the Lt. Gov was saying, you’d get the message too.

Stupid much, robotpussy? Did you find any typos, grammar nazi?🤪🤪🤪

reply

You're absolutely right. I always thought that pro-life meant everyone's life for them , but obviously it doesn't. Once you're out of the womb, you're on your own as far as they're concerned.

Here's the bottom line. Covid-19 hasn't stabilized yet. Even with social distancing it's still going up. We don't have that issue with the standard flu. If we go back to normal without stabilizing covid-19 first, it could spread like the standard flu with a million people dying instead of thousands. If you think the economy is bad now, imagine what it would be like with a million deaths to a disease that is still increasing its numbers.

reply

It's going up because we are flooding the most affected areas with tests. We've done 370,000 tests total, with 220,000 of them happening in the last week. It's very much a lagging indicator. In two weeks you will see a flattening of the curve and a death rate well under 1% and closer to .3-.5% for everyone other than the high-risk population.

A million deaths is not in the cards, even in the worst-case scenarios.

That's called accuracy. If T-rump took this serious back in February, instead of calling it a 'Democratic hoax' with his bobbleheads at FOX, these tests would have been administered six weeks ago, and we would have this more contained. We would have had a more accurate read on who was infected, and where it was spreading.

But remember, up until March 13, it was all a Democratic hoax.

reply

They love the economy so much that they fucked it up for every generation beneath them.

reply

And willing to die for it. WTF?

reply

You got proof? Had you understood a damn thing, you'd realize what the Lt. Gov's intentions were. Since you're just an indoctrinated lemming, you don't know damn thing of what you're talking about. With dogdump as your lead, it's the blind leading the blind to the cliff.

reply

Ever since Trump was elected, life has felt like the Twilight Zone. Just look at these replies.

reply

Can you believe the replies on this thread ?????????????????????????????

I know T-rump said he likes his supporters uneducated, but WOW ! These are still shocking to read - these are incredible.

reply

I thought Trump supporters are pro-life.

reply

Pro-economy, apparently.

reply

Yes, some Trump supporters are pro-life. So what? There's a difference to giving an unborn baby a chance to live, when they have ZERO CHOICE to live or not as opposed to somebody who is a senior citizen and making the CHOICE to make intelligent decisions on their own in order for their kids to improve their quality of life.

I mean, how stupid are you that can't see the obvious, robotpussy? Ignorance is Strength, innit Robotpussy?

reply

Having ten kids you can't feed doesn't seem pro-life either.

reply

That’s call irresponsible. Something you are very knowledgeable about, right Fredo? You’re smaht. You can do dings. Not like everybody says!🤪🤪🤪

reply

Pro-life only to the extent that the person is white, Christian, republican, American and...not elderly.

reply

Exactly! They have to be young enough to help 'the economy' prosper. What a bunch of lunatics. No wonder they've been pushing to cut medicare, social security and other financial supplements for the elderly - now it makes sense of how evil they are.

reply

If Donald loses this November, I will never forget the Trumpers. They are a clear and present danger and could vote another clown in down the line.

reply

I thought Trump supporters are pro-life.

But always stupid - and you can't fix stupid. Just look at the responses defending the Lt. Guv on this forum! My God....I think it says something about the sad, sorry lives they lead if they're willing to die for the economy. Whew!

reply

Yeah, it's almost as if the cultists are self-parodying themselves at this point. Unreal.

It's just the clowns on this board either--I'm seeing this same BS on Yahoo and YouTube. What's find creepy about it is how casually they defend it. They don't even seem to have a reaction to it, really.

reply

Not defending it? Sheer willful Ignorance. Look at the responses here, dumbshit. What do you think I and others are doing? Just because you claim Ignorance to things you don’t want to face doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Come on Fredo. I thought you’re smaht. You can do dings, yes? Not like everybody says. 🤪🤪🤪

reply

The old saying goes that in a time of crisis, it brings out the very best in people and the very worst. For the T-rumptards, it has certainly brought out the very worst (which is their true selves).

reply

Exactly, and we're now seeing just how bad they are.

We can never forget them when Donald is gone. We now know just how insane a portion of our population us.
