My understanding is the first episode has been out a few days.
And no one one these boards is talking about it ! For a trek show, cartoon or not that is not a good sign.
As far as I'm aware its not available outside the US yet but still only one post after it's premier does not bode well.
It's Kurtzman Trek. It ALL sucks. Don't argue.
No argument here, I've seen STD... meh, Seen Picard...WTF, and curious about this, it's Star trek I will see it eventually but as no one is talking about it my hopes are very very low.
sharepicard was ok ruight up till the end. I';m guessing people don't like picard cause it doesn't really explorer space which I agree is a bit far from trek themes. Star Trek discovery sucks cause the crew is full of dicks. Every one is like a dick to each other and lower decks is kinda the same.
Forgive me I mean it's supposed to be in the Star trek universe.
shareI've seen the first episode. I think that "Discovery" is a train wreck, and "Picard" was an outright bummer, until things got at least a little interesting in the final two episodes.
But, to me, "Lower Decks" has more "Trek" in it than both of the other shows combined.
It even (gasp!) has actual theme music that actually SOUNDS like theme music. Not the mournful whining sound that starts out both of the other two shows.
There's lots of over-the-top crazy stuff and jokes going on, but it's a show that sounds like it actually likes "Trek," instead of trying to tear it up for kicks and grins.
I will watch it because I think creator works on Rick and Morty and Solar opposites which are both great sci fi shows in my opinion so this one should be good too. I have seen some star trek fans complain about how it will ruin the star trek legacy well I don't really care about that. I am not a hard core star trek fan, I only want to be entertained by this new style of sci fi comedy.

shareI was really looking forward to this, then I saw the preview and thought it was going to not be that great. Four episodes in and I don't really find it that amusing, or interesting. I think I am going to stop watching it. Can't wait for more The Orville and Avenue 5 instead.

I still watch it as a time killer show. Ep5 atm. Nothing much to really talk about it on as it's just silly hijinks with a mom captain who likes to torture her daughter by demoting her to lower decks where she can hustle/troll everyone below and have no responsibility fun all the while feeling superior and sometimes sorry for the loser she has to hangout with. Other than that, sometimes they do amazing things that impress her but then we're already off to the next adventure of silly hijinks. A toned down version of Rick & Morty and more in line with Final Space.
