Didn't this family lead to a few indirect deaths?

For a start the 2 pilots on the last plane died from the crash but arguably the crash wouldn't have happened had the plane not been delayed by the family wanting to get on at the last minute.

There was a fight on the truck that the father was on over him owning the wristband. This wouldn't have happened had he not been on there which caused the death of the black guy who was going to Greenland, or were all those people on their way to Greenland, therefore making it worse?

I'm also wondering if the guy with the fuel pump which exploded during the breach and killing all those people going to the bunkers, would have been exactly where he was had the father not decided to come off that plane at that moment.

In conclusion, perhaps there'd be more survivors in the bunker had that family not been selected?

I thought the same thing. The plane doors opened a second time because he wanted to get off the plane, which led to people rushing the plane. There wouldn't have been any shooting if he'd stayed onboard. Hadn't thought that about the fight in the truck.

Yep, your point has convinced me even more that those explosions and consequently all those deaths would not have happened had he not wanted to get off the plane, or not been on it at all. How many deaths did that one explosion cause?

This family did more harm than good for the survival of the human race.

reply

I duuno. Hundreds of people rushed the airfield. There would have been shooting.

No, you really shouldn't go down that rabbit hole. If you do, where do you stop?

Not only the pilots dying but they put that whole flight at risk for exceeding the weight by their selfish actions. They could have killed everyone on that flight. My fave love/ hate Air Crash Investigation shows that.

The pilot asked the guy’s weight so he must have known there was a little leeway on the payload weight.

Clarke led to some indirect deaths too. 🙄

I don’t get why the group of gunman had to shoot up the pharmacy either. No one was stopping anyone from helping themselves to everything. They shot an old lady. Why? Was she holding the last jar of metamucil?

Looting thugs are not rational people.

you realize some people would go on a shooting spreee if they knew for certain there wont be no police or jail due to world-end scenario. Just for fun. right?

reply

Wouldn't have mattered. Why he was refueling at that time is pure Hollywood. As a pilot, I know that we NEVER fuel a plane that has passengers aboard. One errant spark and it's hundreds dead.

The guy after the wristband was a schmuck. He could have minded his own business and left the Butler character alone. He was ultimately responsible for his own death.

As to the 2 pilots, they would have been caught in the shock wave regardless. Had they landed, everyone would have been out on the ramp, and even more would have died from the shock wave.

Too many variables to say X caused Y.

You could easily speculate that their actions also saved lives by changing the course of things unforeseen due to the "butterfly effect".

This family has caused the deaths of hundreds. If the plane had taken off on time without needing to re-open the door for the father everyone on that plane would have survived instead of being roasted BBQ.
