Woke life. Get bent.

Long time reader (IMDb comments), first time commenter. Hopefully, not my last comment on MC since I really, honestly, value your opinions. Take this film, "A Man Called Otto" for example. Was the original movie similar? If it was a book, was it on par with storyline? Of course, I can research the film ad nauseum, but let's say the film is just garbage and I'd rather ask about it here.

What's up with the emasculated husband and injection of the trans kid about half way through the film? I'm tired... so tired of trannies in these movies. Is anyone able to tell me why, for example, the kid couldn't have a physical disability or perhaps a small drug problem? All I wished for was a feel-good movie and I get woke nonsense, trans-genders and men who don't, and never have, represented the guys I've hung around with in my life.

Sometimes you just don't enjoy a movie.

I think context of the story is cery important breakfast at Pluto, Dog Day Afternoon, Street Angel, Kinky Boots and the crying game did well with a transgender characters. Shows like Batwoman don't because they're political rather than stories. If these characters work within context of the story, that's fine.

I don't agree with the

Trans people exist get over it

reply

People still say "get over it"?

reply

Thats called trans derangement syndrome on your part. Mayne quit watching fox news.

reply

You made that up. It doesn't exist. The media is pushing an agenda (at the expense of trans people, I'll grant) in which they train the masses to accept anything they say.

You would be better off being careful of anything you watch that was made after 2016. Most of these films and tv shows are a bait-and-switch setup, where they pretend it's a modern remake or part of a franchise you loved; but it's nothing more than a platform for Hollyweird's gross, twisted political messages wrapped in a cheap wrapper made to look like something you want to watch.

reply

I know everyone has to have an opinion these days and give their political point of view and all that. But my question is, did you like the movie? That's all that matters. Who cares who's in it or what they stand for or their religion or if they are gay or black? Did you enjoy the movie? If not then don't watch it. Turn it off and watch something that you enjoy. No need to make being miserable everyone else's interest.

I thought I was going to get two hours of Tom Hanks letting youngsters know they need to get their shit together. Wow, was I disappointed.

reply

You are confusing Tom Hanks with Clint Eastwood. Easy mistake to make, I guess.

reply

Haha. Yes. This movie was better when it was called Gran Turino...
