Thank goodness that awful Stingray character was not in Season 3

That fact alone made season 3 superior than season 2 for me. HATE Stingray , a stupid ridiculous character! He gave me the same feels as Screech from Saved by the Bell or the Fat and Skinny guy in Power Rangers. Unfunny comic relief characters. I hope we never see him again!

reply

Agreed. He felt out of place and he was horribly unfunny. He added nothing to the show.

reply

In a show with so many fat/unfit kids that are supposed to be good at karate he was just too extra - even by the shows rules. Useless comic relief character.

reply

Yeah completely agree, he was the step too far.

reply

True. I didnt like him as well. But you know the movies had their silly moments as well. Terry Silver for instance was a pretty ridiculous character but hes now kinda a cult classic character and the fans want to see him even though the movie wasnt all that good. Same with Julie from the 4th movie.

That's what I like about this series. It embraces everything from the movies good or bad. Doesnt run away from it like some series try to retcon it. So they go even as far as making it a bit silly like the movies get.

reply

Yeah can't stand him and yet they had to bring him back for Season 4!

reply

I can't stand him either, but enjoyed this clip:

reply

Yeah I loved that as well but it looks like it is the price he is willing to pay to be Cobra Kai. I just thought Silver was beating him up for fun.

reply

I hope Silver has no use for him next season.

reply

🤞

reply

Yeah, I feel like he kills the tone of the rest of the show.

reply

What?
The tone is over the top all over the show!

reply

Agreed. There are enough crazy characters and humour already. An adult trying to be part of a teen DoJo and competition is just lame and possibly illegal but definitely creepy.

reply

Yeah, it just doesn't fit in with the teeny melodrama kids or the midlife crisis of the adults lol. Odd form of comic relief turned into critical plot device, so I think we're gonna get more of him in season 5 unfortunately lol

reply

uh, oh.
