Did anyone actually find this funny?

The sausage fingers - was that supposed to be funny? Did anybody in any cinema anywhere on earth laugh out loud at this?

The directors think they are comedy masters, I bet. Except for the wonderful performance by Ke Huy Quan and his character who was humorous at times, and the trophy gag, there wasn't much else there.

IT WAS MY DAUGHTER'S FAVORITE FILM OF THE YEAR...I ALSO REALLY ENJOYED IT...I FELT THAT THE ENTIRE FILM "LANDED".

reply

Very happy that you enjoyed it.

But did you laugh out loud? That is really the question here. I feel that the directors were relying, perhaps too much, on humour.

reply

YES...THE HUMOR WORKED.

reply

Good to hear. I found a large part of it annoying and cringeworthy, but we can't all be alike.

reply

My wife and i also thought it was terrible

Do not take kowalski seriously, he's a well known troll on this forum

How old is your daughter?

reply

reply

That explains it.

The movie clearly wasn't for you. Maybe Michael Bay has a new Transformers movie lined up?

reply

This is a good go-to response, but use it right, and on the right people.

The humor is "Asian" and not entirely my cup of tea but it's still a funny movie. I believe the producers of this movie put some honest joy in it and not purely saw with $ in their eye. It warrants the TraFo defense!

reply

Did you see it in a theater? The packed house where I saw it was roaring with laughter during that, and many other scenes.

reply

Thank you for answering my question. I had a feeling that would be the case. Either people find the sausage fingers annoying, or ridiculously laugh out loud funny.

reply

I found it to be mildly amusing. As for the film it was one of the best and funniest in many years.

Just off the top of my head, I laughed at

-Evelyn trying to connect with her daughter and then only being able to come up with telling her she needed to lose weight
-the hot dog fingers
-the one scene where JLC was killing dudes with pro wrestling moves
-the grandfather eating the pudding
-the various ways they had to do odd things to trigger a jump, esp the "i love you" scene

So yeah I did think it was pretty funny, and a really good movie too.

reply

Nope.
Overhyped, overstylized, overrated.

reply

It's the tiktok crowd and gen z humour

reply

I think the point of the sausage fingers was when she was telling Jamie Lee Curtis’s character outside the laundromat that if people in a universe where everyone has stupid sausage fingers can find love then anyone can.
