This certain movie trope/plot device NEEDS TO DIE (spoilers)
The whole "Is the ending a fantasy or not?" gimmick.
I've had enough of it.
It's lazy and rarely used effectively.
Have the conviction to pick an ending and go with it.

shareDepends on the situation.
shareWhy would you think the ending was a dream? Nothing in the movie indicated any ambiguity.
shareWhen discussing Michael's suicide, Toller speculated about what we see at the moment we die. That could have been foreshadowing the ambiguity of death & whether we perceive the harsh reality of it or experience something transcendent.
I'm also not sure what to make of that hovering scene. It was so fantastic it pulled me out of the movie.
NOW WAIT JUST A F'n MINUTE!!!
Are you asking Hollyweird to NOT be lazy?
