The Orville ship name

The Orville should have a brother ship called the Wilbur, this would be the Wright thing to do.

"Takes flight"?

The term is "takes off" - something that your pun-wannabes failed to do.

(The original poster's pun was good).

Good thing you showed up a year later to shut down this mismanagement of punning. Self proclaimed pun experts forget that all puns are bad.

Actually, "take flight" can mean either fleeing or taking to the air.

Why did they leave out a way to recommend a post ... that was funny.

Does that mean that anyone on the Orville can't keep it up for more than 12 seconds?

At first, I didn't understand the ship's name, until I saw the ancient early 1900s plane on Capt. Mercer's desk, then I realized where it came from. Orville and Wilbur Wright, the first people to attain man-made flight successfully, and it fits the ship very well.
