Incredibly boring

Overly long, visually messy, and most of the characters seemed underwritten so more focus could be paid to Iron Man and Thor.

Also, this film was a tonal mess when you consider it was preceded by the comedic Thor: Ragnarok. Try watching those two films back-to-back ... one minute, everyone is laughing it up, next minute, everyone is dead and Thor is getting his head squeezed.

First: How can THIS FILM be a tonal mess because of a different film? That movie does not affect the tone of this movie at all.

That would be as dumb as saying that this movie was badly edited because Thor was badly edited (not saying Thor was badly edited, just an example). That point would be insanity.

Second: Thor is not an Avengers movie, and Infinity War is not a Thor movie. Just like how Ant-Man is not a Thor movie, or an Avengers movie. Infinity War is not an Ant-Man movie... on and on and on. If I said Infinity War was a tonal mess because Ant-Man came out even closer to it, I would be rightfully seen as insane to pretend that the two are one movie. Thus you are insane.

Also, I recall Thor ending with Asgard being destroyed. I recall Thor losing his eye in that movie. I recall lots of Asgardians dying.

Oh wait, you're one of those little boys who is afraid of laughter and thinks everything needs to be dark and edgy because you lack inner maturity and so you think you can compensate for that with your entertainment, right?

Grow up.

I couldn't really say this was a movie. But maybe the perfect comic adaption. Cause every scene felt like it had a different writer and artist like any cobbled together comic event. Some of the scenes were great. I definitely found most of it pretty boring. The beginning bit in NY was excellent. The stuff on Titan was excellent. Nothing about this film stands on its own merit. You have to be familiar with pretty much the whole MCU to follow it all. I think this movie is only what it could be, at this point, tying all these films and narratives together. I doubt i'll ever bother watching it again. Just a blur of noise and CGI like one endless video game cutscene.

I didn't like it that much on my first view, but having watched it once more I liked it much more. And I think they handled the plot, characters and screentime extremely well. This movie was kind of a bold move in terms that it had all the potential to be a trainwreck and it was just the opposite as far as the execution is concerned.

Good thing that so many of the Avengers were taken out, now they only have to focus on a handful of characters.

I have cousins that thought the same thing about the first Avengers movie but the thing is they hadn't even seen the other MCU movies that preceded it. When I explained to them that you have to watch the previous movies to understand the events of Avengers they said, "Well that's not the way it should be." I guess they just prefer older movies. Then again they aren't that into superheroes anyway.

Boring? of all possible criticism for this movie you come up with boring? do best please.

I hadn't even seen all of the MCU movies prior to this. I hadn't seen a single Thor movie, or Black Panther, or Spider-Man: Homecoming, or the second GOTG movie. Likewise for the first Avengers movie I had only seen Iron Man prior to it. Naturally there were some characters I wasn't familiar with but I still really liked it, and knew that they didn't need to nor should they, write the characters especially for people who weren't familiar with them.

They juggled all the characters extremely well and tonally I think they got it spot on. About average in terms of the comedy for the MCU, while serious enough to get a feel of the threat from Thanos and what's at stake. I've seen Thor: Ragnarok now, and that was an extreme example of the comedic tone for these movies. They probably overdid it there but I quite enjoyed that one too, again not having seen the first 2 Thor films still.
