Don't understand the audience for this?

First off (whilst not the greatest fan of of MCU) I get that these films are profitable enough, but I don't quite get the hype around something as (essentially) as bare-boned as this?

Other than the (atypical) CGI set-pieces, are audiences (especially men) really going to see this, based on their attraction for Miss Johansson?

I only ask, because the majority of the posts around here (and other online sites) are based around her physical attributes (as opposed to 'plot' or 'script' or 'direction') which (if true) is a little worrying?

Is this where 'cinema' is nowadays? I'm amazed that 'UNDER THE SKIN' wasn't a bigger hot (given it's content) or do the fans only like to see her, under heavy CGI (and/or Photoshop?)

Which do you think sounds like more of an indictment on society; men finding her features attractive and her personality appealing, or people cynically (and misguidedly) assuming she's being constantly airbrushed with CGI?

Look chaps, I'm not mocking her (or you) but is the promise of seeing her in skin-tight Lycra enough to warrant anyone slapping down ten dollars (or it's geographical equivalent) to see miss Johansson (in this day and age) especially when, (as previously mentioned) there's better films out there that 'highlight' such attributes?

Or do you require CGI explosions, with your wank fantasies?

People are seeing this because it’s the MCU and people love the MCU. It’s as simple as that.

If anyone's seeing this primarily because they find Scarlett Johansson attractive, there's nothing wrong with that.

On a core 'emotional' level it's understandable....she's not exactly ugly, nor unattractive....but surely anyone with that 'mindset' would/could/should have moved onto something else by now?

The mindset that goes to see a movie based solely on their attraction to the lead actress (personally, I thought all that shit died in the mid nineties, with Sharon Stone and similar 'erotic thrillers'?) At very least they provided audiences with cheap thrills (unlike *this* movie)

If you like the actual movie (fine)
But I'd have thought in this day and age, that there's far better stuff out there for audiences wanting titilation?

People can see a movie for any reason they want. If one of those reasons is that they find someone in that movie attractive, that's absolutely fine.

Thing is... Not only is ScarJo really hot, she's actually a good actress. Just watch Ghost World or Lost in Translation, so I can catch a ScarJo joint just because I know there'll be some fine acting.

This.. Was unworthy both for the character and the actress.

I don't get what the big deal is. It's an action film with a chick in the lead role. I like action movies, and I don't care if a dude or chick is the one kicking ass. Also it is a Marvel flick, and Marvel is popular, so is Black Widow. Scarlet is Johansson is an A-list actress and lots of dude find her to be pretty hot. I don't think she's that hot, but she is reasonably attractive. I didn't go see the movie for her looks
