Emma Watson is in it. But a over 2 hour chick movie can be hard to go see. I'll wait and buy it like Pride and Prejudice. It is cheaper to buy with the cost of ticket,popcorn,and drink it makes it higher than the dvd cost.

I wasn't particularly looking forward to yet another adaptation of this story but Gerwig and the cast have me casually interested.
shareNo it is not. The 1994 was much better. This new version is ok, but they kept jumping from the past to the present just so they could make it different to the earlier version. This took away the emotional scenes for me.
I still enjoyed it, but definitely not the best film ever. Gosh!!

shareIt's important to remember that a film's RT-score % is (roughly) the % of registered critics who said it was fresh = non-rotten = gave it at least 70/100 (or whatever the cut-off point is). That's *not* normally the same as (roughly) the average score out of 100 given by registered critics. The latter is what we'd usually understand as a consensus score for best-ness, quality, how much something is liked, etc..

Ditto for IMDb scores. RT-score is an outlier that does not mean or track what many people think it does. It generalizes Siskel & Ebert's thumbs up stuff, which is a kind of practical guide to whether a film's broadly worth seeing, and does not and can not constitute a ranking for quality, degree of like, etc.
E.g.,
A film that universally scores just above the cutoff for 'fresh' gets a 100% RT-score but it will only get a mediocre 7/10 score on Metacritic, IMDb, and the like. Put another way, RT-score has no way to distinguish a universally 7/10 movie and a universally 10/10 movie; they're both RT-perfect, 100% Fresh. Hence well-liked but unacclaimed movies such as Black Panther, End-game, etc. can be as RT-good as Citizen Kane, etc..
No need to remember it: we already know. According to RT, Black Panther has the same (critic's) approval ratio than Alien, and higher than Billy Wilder's The Apartment, and all things considered (like critic's prestige), it's the best movie in History, just above Avengers Endgame, which is the second best movie in History.
share@Kuku. But then the point is not to accept RT's crazy descriptions of their own RT-score rankigs. A very high RT-score equates to (near-) consensus that something's at least a 7/10 *not* to that something's typically very-highly-rated. RT needs to stop calling its RT-score ranking top 100 a 'top movies of all time' list, where 'top' is understood (mistakenly but understandably) by people like you as meaning 'best quality', 'most liked', etc..
RT-scores (and rankings) measure (comparative) closeness to full consensus that something is basically worth seeing. That's all.
Glad to see two movies from before 2017 made the all-time top ten. Proves the critics really know their cinema.
