I hope so.

I think they can't simply pivot away from Sam & Tara, I mean they can but there is no way the reception or box office will be any good. Ortega's the biggest star of the new cast and many fans will be bitter over Barrera getting fired. I don't think the current remaining cast will be able to carry the franchise going forward.

They either have to start anew (a proper reboot/remake) or go back to Sidney. I wouldn't be surprised if they put the project on ice for a while and consider another reboot in a couple of years time.

Brining back Sidney is the only way I see them properly salvaging the current timeline.

Nah it's already over. If they double down in this. The pro-Hamas forces will boycott it. If they kneel, the pro-isreal forces will boycott it.

It would be quite funny if they return to Neve after the Diversity Experiment failed so spectacularly, but I have a feeling she has too much dignity to re-subject herself to the cesspit that is post-Craven Scream.

Scream died with Craven. The tragedy is that 4 was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy but, even though 4 is amazing, at the time there wasn’t a hunger for a reboot and it underperformed, and then Craven dies.

The original cast should never have returned for these terrible woke reboots, which naturally killed off everyone’s favourite character for the crime of being a straight white male. I’m glad the whole thing has collapsed.

I don’t care what the remaining OG cast do now, nothing past 4 is canon.

Yes they are. They rebooted a dormant franchise, and even named the 5th entry ‘Scream’ (a dick move)

and except for like 2 straight white women, all the wes craven killers were already straight white males to be put down. so were a lot of victims. they tend to die a lot

Of course, because the main cast was always white apart from the odd token minority in 2 and 3. The wokeness is apparent when, in a very racially diverse cast, only whites turn out to be evil killers and non-whites have minority armour.

Scream 4 had a character who said ‘I can’t get killed, I’m gay!’, that film actually called out the cringe wokeness that 5 and 6 would be guilty of 11 years before they were made.

to say scream 5/6 standout in that regard is a severe case of hypersensitive tunnel vision

it's an ok franchise though. 4 was the only wes craven one i actually liked. the rest were underwhelming. i'll still keep watching, anyway

No, 1 is a horror masterpiece, 2 is very good, 3 is OK, 4 is great. 5 and 6 are utter shite and not canon.
