Mark Hamill says wait for cable; rumors are that RoS has been bombing in test screenings

There are about three levels of what the fuckery going on in this article. I just read it and was completely taken off guard by multiple details.

reply

And for how long have you been shilling and is there really any money in it ?

reply

LOL just like a fucking fanboy. I bet you loved Last Jedi, too.

Who would I be shilling for anyway? Shills promote stuff; they aren't detractors.

reply

You posted a link to a lame ass story and misrepresented it's content to big it up so people would click on it. If it looks like a shill and posts like a shill...

reply

You don't even know what shill means. An example of a shill would be someone who works for Disney and is trying to promote the film. Maybe one day you'll win your war with the English language.

As for "lame ass story," like I said, spoken like a true fanboy. Clearly you aren't interested in anything that might be critical of the Disney Star Wars movies.

reply

Some guy tweeted where he was complaining that buying 32 tickets to 'Return of Skywalker' was expensive and it better be good. Hamill replied or you could wait for cable. So it was a joke. Like I said a lame ass click bait story.

reply

Did you even read the whole article?

How about this:

"Hamill’s tweet about skipping Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters comes shortly after rumors indicated there were multiple versions of the film created following terrible test screenings.

"In fact, according to these rumors the test screenings were so bad on the original cut of the film that Disney CEO Bob Iger personally stepped in, in order to try and right the ship of Star Wars. And while his test screening fared better than the previous film, it was still met with rather lukewarm scores.

"A third version of the film would be created with Disney bringing in George Lucas to create a “secret Skywalker.” This version was met with much better scores. It’s unclear which version Disney will go with, but the source of the rumor indicates Disney will more than likely go with George Lucas’ version of the film."

If there's actually something to these rumors then it's nothing short of a bombshell, especially the part about Lucas being brought to help fix the mess Disney has created.

If you disagree, I don't know what to tell you.

Stories about rumours...

reply

Very often in the film business rumors turn out to be based on fact. Countless examples of that.

It's not like anyone is submitting this as evidence in a court of law. We're on a film discussion board on the Internet. If this isn't a topic you want to discuss, then don't.

reply

Well obviously it was a "topic" I wanted to discuss which is why I did...

reply

Well here's a pro-tip for you for future reference:

"And for how long have you been shilling and is there really any money in it ?" is not a very useful or productive way to start a discussion.

reply

Disney wouldn't waste money paying people to shill on message boards like this. Maybe on social media and review sites, but not places like this.

reply

Get ready for the dumpster fire, kids. It's gonna be a big, ugly, stinky one.

reply

The "three cuts" story doesn't sound right. Bob Iger personally supervised an edit of the film? Hard to believe.

reply

Who knows what "stepping in" actually means. I doubt he stepped in as principal editor--does he even have the skills?--but he may have given the film more attention in the form of studio notes.

reply

Interesting,

reply

That was definitely the part that caught my attention the most.

It could be just a rumor. But if not, that sounds pretty damn significant to me, and it sounds like something any Star Wars fan would care about.

reply

It doesn't even need to be a secret Skywalker - it could just be a clone of Luke! That would retcon TLJ nicely.

reply

Like you said before, rumors do tend to be true. I have a feeling they wont show the Lucas version anyways. Disney has proven they could care less about him or his ideas. It would be like not asking advice from DaVinci about painting a mural.

reply

Could be. That's a damn shame, too.

As someone who actually appreciates the prequels, despite their issues, I think Lucas has been treated a little unfairly in regard to Star Wars in general.

Epicstream updated their article after Hamill explained it was a joke!

NERD ALERT: This was a joke. A J-O-K-E. See, it's funny because NO self-respecting #StatWars fan would EVER wait for #EpisodeIX on cable. Get it now? I knew you would. #TheBestHumorIsTheKindYouHaveToExplain

BIC is hardly a credible source. Google "multiple versions rise of skywalker" and you find nobody else! Maybe DoomCuck.

You People are just lusers latching onto any "bad news" that confirms your hatred!

reply

Newer Star wars films have never done test screenings, people should stop believing these bullshit reports
