Anyone else disappointed?

Not much of a final battle and bringing back the old gang where they didn't do much besides being relegated to the background so Pheobe, the super nerd, can solve everything that she caused due to her getting too emotional from strict parenting. A rebel without a cause.

The boss battle was a joke as well and was confined to one tiny space. There was no crossing of the beams either which would've made some more nostalgic copium.

Those that actually saw it, did you get anything from seeing it?

Even though I did enjoy Frozen Empire I do agree with you.

The old gang definitely were relegated to the background in the final battle. As a matter a fact the old gang were barely in the film. The trailers made it seem like the old gang would be in the film A LOT but that really wasn’t the case. They have more screen time than they did in Afterlife but they still should’ve had more screen time.

Overall in my opinion Frozen Empire was better than Afterlife.

Haven't seen it yet but the only way to handle "the old gang" in a story like this is to give them their own side plot. Something important to do while the new people save the day.

Yes, it was somewhat disappointing. I felt it lacked the fun and humour of the previous films. I would rate it a 6/10.

the final half hour picked up a little, but the first hour was mostly just scattered scenes of each of the cast, broken up in groups, trying out new special effects. a couple interactions with the originals were funny, venkman's hidden bottle, stantz quitting smoking in the 90's. i liked the melody ghost storyline and when the library lion attacks ray.

A lot of filler material - characters not great - no chemistry - crappy writing -
The last one was bearable - but this one, I had to skip through big parts of it.
giving it 3/10 - skip

And as for nostalgia - the last one was for that, while this one is nostalgia overstaying its welcome, combined with crappy writing/characters/etc. I think they are doing the same to ghostbusters as what George Lucas did for Star wars when he started featuring kids as the leads - change target audience, and please nobody at all. Huge fail.

Agreed, so much filler! The film is just oversaturated with plotlines that didn’t need to be there.

It needed the main plot and then the subplot with Phoebe befriending the ghost and that would have been enough.

"Old gang" was actually a lot more in movie then I expected. I thought it would be small cameos. But they actually had roles.

Dan Aykroyd had full one supporting role. He kept and kept appearing in scenes. Ernie Hudson played a boss and kept showing up. Bill Murray was probably too lazy to show up for a role and agreed to cameo.

Very.

While I understand why you didn't like that, the original team at least opened up the containment unit to trap the God thing.
