Yeah I didn't understand that deal. I never much trusted the garbage people anyway but their betrayal doesn't make sense logically, even if it does make sense for them to have no honor.

I guess he promised more than whatever it was than Rick offered...maybe more than guns. They are a pretty primitive "id brained" kind of group ..

He had a deal with the Kingdom, too, because the Saviours only met them at a neutral spot and had never been inside their compound (which is why Negan didn't know Ezekial had a tiger).

And the Kingdom was constantly providing him with food.

With the Scavengers it looked like a one-sided kind of thing. Jadis seemed to be under the impression that she had a lot of power in that partnership.

I did not have this impression. One glance from Negan and she said "10" instead of "12".

Yes, and what was she providing in return? And back to my initial question - why would Negan spare any of his people in the first place? This deal didn't make any sense.

She was providing the obvious betrayal. Theyre now allies.

All he wants is slave labor, and they aren't going to provide it.

You gotta stop thinking so 1 sided. Negan is a warlord. He's building an empire. He needs more than slave labor and collecting 'taxes' from his subjugates. He needs allies, spies, moles, etc.

I can't believe I'm the only one that figured this out. But it's pretty obvious the Garbage Pail Kids were under Negans thumb from the beginning. They were just like The Kingdom, Hilltop and Alexandria. So when Rick came to them and pitched the idea to over throw Negan, they pretended to not know what Rick was talking about, agreed only if he provided them guns and then reported to Negan of this betrayal, for whatever "10" of something they are about to receive.

Begging the Question. They made a deal where they needed "12" of something and Negan only agreed to 10. That's what we know so far. Why complain about something that isn't even fully revealed yet. This is a mystery the writers want the viewers to be thinking about.

In my opinion, the garbage people bring nothing to the table for Negan. Their deal was nothing more than a tactical decision on Negan's part to pretty much guarantee the upper hand in what went down. He was probably planning on slaughtering them the next day.

Negan must be taking something from the Scavengers like he does from all the other groups. Wouldn't it make more sense for the Scavengers to kill off Negan and his group and share the spoils with Rick?

I get the feeling the scavengers are not into sharing. If they were able to take out Negan's group, they'd go after Rick and everyone next. They have decent numbers but are lazy so would do an effective siege at Alexandria I imagine despite any back up from the other communities. There is practically no food at Alexandria so they would be forced into a battle.

As I said before, I really don't think there is any real deal between the scavengers and Negan. Negan knows right of the bat these people can't be trusted, breaking deals with other groups. They're a liability. No way would he want to work with them.

I have no idea. I don't know that much about Negan. Has he not made deals before? Based off of what? I'm not counting the comic since I've never read it. I don't know what you are basing your opinion off of unless you are a comic reader who has read a load of back ground info on Negan. As a TV watcher only, all I know is that he has a huge force and brutally subjugates those neighboring communities to serve and supply him. Does he not make deals to get people to spy for him and set up traps? I don't know, apparently he does.
