There is no way!!!

This will be anywhere near as good as the original. Just not possible.

STFU and wait for it. Lmao

The original was G-rated. I can't see Rob Zombie making a movie without violence and gore. I'm very curious if he tries to make it family oriented or adults only.

reply

It's going to be family oriented. Which makes me curious to see it. Like back when the head banger was about to make his first movie. I was interested in seeing what he could do. Now I'm interested in seeing what the hardcore horror director can do with a family-oriented project. And I'm definitely not a fan of remakes and reboots, but this does have me intrigued.

reply

If he makes it violent and gory, then no thank you. What's the point? There are plenty of gory horror flicks.

But if he uses his unique talents to really explore the farcical ghoulish camp of the original tv show, that will be great.

reply

It is rated PG so violence and gore is highly unlikely.

reply

I'll be very curious to see this one.

reply

The trailer notes that it's rated PG so it's sort of family oriented.

The good: it has Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

The bad: it has Rob and his wife, who is a piece of pussy but cannot act.

The ugly: it does not have Fred Gwynne nor Christina Ricci. I have no doubt that Cassandra Peterson can more than replace Yvonne deCarlo, but no one can replace Wednesday.

reply

Cassandra Peterson is not playing Lilly.

What does Wednesday have to do with The Munsters?

reply

Lol. He has it all wrong.

Sheri Moon Zombie, Rob's wife, is playing Lily. Cassandra Peterson plays a real estate agent. That's too bad, because Peterson would have made a great Lily.

reply

"A piece of pussy"? She is a human being, not a sex object. And Wednesday is from The Addams Family. This is The Munsters. Two completely different things.

reply

The Munsters Today was better than the original in the late 80s

reply

Here Come the Munsters in 1995 was probably the best remake of The Munsters. This Zombie version is the absolute worst. It doesn't even look like he ever watched the original show and based his casting off of what someone had told him they were supposed to look like. No point in even going into the actors abilities to act, it is safe to say you could have gotten better acting from a bunch of high school drama kids.

But more disturbing than anything else is the way it was shot. It has the look of a smooth video but lack the dynamic range of a high end camera. Given the movie had a supposed budget of 40 million I'm not sure where the money went because it certainly didn't go into the script, actors or production. I have never seen such and ugly look of a movie as this. You can make almost bearable if you lower the saturation of your TV significantly lower the contrast and brightness... but even still it looks like shit. Reminds me of watching dailies that haven't been given any post at all... not that it would have saved the movie because the script is shit, and the actors as stated bad.

Don't watch it. Go watch any of the originals or remakes and pretend this one doesn't exist. When it hits Netflix save your bandwidth.

You are correct. Just saw the film the other day. My wife and I, being fans of the original sitcom, were hoping for a good movie. We didn't get one. This movie was bad on all fronts. Acting, dialogue and jokes.
Cassandra Peterson, who both my wife and I get a kick out of when she plays Elvira, was wasted here.
She should have played Lily, but, even then, I don't think she could have saved it.
