Absolute garbage.

Hollywood doing the most with one worst film ever made after another and this is no exception. Absolute garbage with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

reply

TV mini series was rubbish. It ought to be erased from existence so this one can take it's place.

reply

It's not going to take its place because this garbage is 50 times worse and anyone that says otherwise is an imbecile.

reply

Don't tell me you liked the mini series.

reply

What is your problem?? Are you a paid reviewer or something???

reply

Miniseries was awful compared to the book. The miniseries felt like an episode of Goosebumps or Are You Afraid Of The Dark? when comparing the miniseries and book to each other. Especially the character of IT/Pennywise. And the movie was WAY better than the miniseries.

And calling people an imbecile because they liked the movie more than the miniseries is screaming that you are a troll of some kind.

Also, I guess I better go sue WB and anyone involved with making the movie. I enjoyed the movie (and more than the miniseries, PLUS I read the book) and I'm not a reviewer or someone that WB paid off to say/type that. I'm just a regular moviegoer and fan of movies and had to pay to see the movie. Plus wait until the movie officially came out to see it, although I saw it at a Thursday night showing at 7:30pm EST, but that's common. Movie theaters have been doing that for a few decades now.

reply

LetThemEatCake - I have a better question. Have you read the book? because judging by what you think of the remake, it doesn't seem like you have.

reply

no I didn't.

reply

That explains everything.

reply

It explains nothing, a movie needs to stand on its own. If you need to read the book to understand it then it failed miserably.

reply

The book is incredible and the latest movie does it more justice than that terrible TV mini series.

reply

On its own it's still a garbage movie.

reply

So REALLY this is nothing about why you dislike the movie so much, its just about how you feel so superior by calling people imbeciles.
At least imbeciles cam be excused for their behavior which is more than I can say for you.
BTW I'll be happy to eat some cake, you can go eat $#!+

reply

I remember you from IMDB, you were an obnoxious, little prick there too lol.
I bet you are so happy to of found a new place you can be a cunt all over.
You seriously have ****ing terrible taste in film, man. You always have and you always will.

I enjoyed the book a lot, and I appreciated that they tried to do an adaptation with the TV miniseries, but it was never a keeper for me. I really enjoyed this newest adaptation and am looking forward to the second part.

reply

Often, though, the only trouble with sequels to films is that, with rare exceptions, sequels (and re-makes, as well) generally don't turn out nearly as well as the original film.

reply

That's certainly often the case, but I'm not certain that I'm thinking of the second installment as a sequel really. The material was all intertwined in the original source novel--the creative team isn't having to think of what to do next to top the original. It's all one story in the same way that something like The Lord of the Rings was one story even though it was released as three books (and then three movies).

reply

Cool. Sounds good!

reply

I didn't like 1990s IT and it looks like this sucks too. I can't understand why they'd make a horror movie about kids for adults.

I wanna see adult horror movies. Not kids horror movies.

reply

What's wrong with horror movies for adults featuring children? I can think of many:

Conjuring (both of 'em)
Insidious (both of 'em)
The Visit
Krampus
The Omen

There's many others, I'm sure.

reply

I saw the new movie "It" a week ago, and it sure didn't look like it was a kid's movie.

reply

This movie was OK. Not great like it could have been. If Hollywood is going to continue to do remakes, at least get accomplished directors to do them and not relative unknowns.

reply

Agree. Some nice moments but in the end, a bit of a jumbled mess.

reply

Not great like it could have been.

Define "great", in your opinion. What would make the movie "great"? (as if it isn't already)

reply

Great would be having a feeling that I have just seen something that sets it apart from other movies. Great is something that makes me feel as if I am experiencing something that combines incredible visuals, sound design, acting, storytelling and artistic integrity. A great film pulls us into it so we can experience what they are feeling. Great movies leave and impression on you that can last a lifetime. Other directors look to these movies and get inspiration from them, but then most get pulled into the fame and fortune of moviemaking and lose the feeling they once had about film. I love movies, but it makes me mad when Hollywood tampers with movies that could have been in that upper echelon. There aren't many great movies these days; unfortunately, most are just a way to pass time.

reply

I don't think a film like IT can be classed as "great" (subjective opinion) as Citizen Kane, to throw a typical hyped example. Then again, I don't think CK is that good, neither.

I think IT (2017) is actually more entertaining and memorable than CK, in any case. I don't give a damn about a movie in which a fucking SLED is the MacGuffin.

reply

Citizen Kane definitely blazed a trail for movies. It is a solid movie, that I do think is pretty great. Young millennials tend to like movies that are easily understood depart from storytelling that incorporates the human condition. Millennials seem to like movies where stock characters abound. I am not sure why you chose to compare CK with IT, but saying that IT is a better film than CK is laughable. Comparing a landmark film to a popcorn flick. That is amusing.

reply

I was born in 1972, so I'm a Generation X'er. I like classic old movies like 12 Angry Men, and I also love movies older than me, which is more than I can say for some people I know, who won't even take a look at B&W movies.

I don't have a list of movies in my collection, but they're quite diverse, mostly based on what I like, across a few genres, although Sci-Fi makes up a sizeable chunk of it, Horror less so.

reply

OK, I am not saying that CK is the best movie of all time, but I don't understand why you brought it up in comparison with IT. I like older movies also. The stories and writing is better than it is now. What is your favorite Sci-fi movie?

reply

I can't really pick out a favourite movie in any genre, I love all the ones I have.

reply

Alfred Hitchcock's definition of a great movie, and as good and operational a definition of "great movie" as I've ever seen: "Three great scenes, no bad scenes."

reply

Can you really call anybody an imbecile with that grammar?

reply

Yeah... Except no.

reply

Attentionwhore

reply

IT still got your money.

reply

It did, unfortunately. I was stupid.

reply

God damn, it must suck so much to be you.
