Ridley Scott is a don. One of the all time greats. Looking forward to this.
shareJesus Christ, this looks spectacular.
shareWill they release this on blu-ray later on, or does it go to streaming only (seemed to be AppleTV) after theater release?
shareWhy the modern music, though? Can we be treated like adults and have a soundtrack appropriate to the time the movie takes place in?
"We gotta market this movie to 10 year olds. Put some radio shit in the trailer!"
100% this, it's a film about a French political leader not a SoundCloud rapper biopic.
shareI thought the same. The anachronistic music goes a long way to blunting the trailer's impact. It reminds me of "Believer" by Imagine Dragons being used in the trailer for Murder on the Orient Express (2018). Why?
shareLooks good.
shareI go to a movie every Thanksgiving and this will definitely be my movie for this year.
Pretty crazy that Ridley Scott is now 85 (!!) and still cranking out epic films like this. He seems to be competing with Clint Eastwood for longevity.
A proper score would've been along the lines of "Barry Lyndon", with period music and original music based on music of the time. Actually, I don't mind the instrumental score with the trailer. It's the vocal part of the music that spoils it.
Also, I wish they had foregone the cliche, silly "clickety-clack" sounds when the soldiers raised their rifles.
Yeah this looks like BIG. Should be great.
