Is Danny McBride as much to blame as DGG?

He had a big part in writing not only this, but also the Halloween movies.

reply

McBride is to horror what Seth Rogen is to nostalgic children's cartoons. They can't do raunchy comedies anymore so they do...this.

reply

Disagree. Vice Principals and Righeteous Gemstones are great

reply

I can't say I've seen those, the only TV series I liked with McBride was Eastbound and Down.

reply

You may enjoy Vice Principals and The Righteous Gemstones. It's right in line with East Bound and Down.

reply

Righteous gemstones is hilarious. I've not seen vice principals or Eastbound but I added both to my watchlist since I love gemstones so much

reply

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

reply

Why can’t they do raunchy comedies anymore?

reply

I suppose the formula became a bit stale. I'm not sure comedies in the style of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, This is the End etc would be popular with todays crowd.

reply

Because now in addition to right-wing puritans, the U.S. is simultaneously under attack by left wing puritans. Both groups are notorious for having no sense of humor.

reply

too true, and both sides always think they know what's best for those of us trapped between them

reply

Danny McBride is a joke and a terrible actor. A Jew hang around in hopes of fame.

reply

What does him being Jewish have to do with anything?

reply

I think he's referring to him hanging around jews in hopes to achieve fame himself. Mcbride is not very jewish, but if he's only hanging around jews for personal gain and not for genuine friendship that is wrong.

reply

Hollywood is all about connections, Jew or not.

reply

McBride is pretty good when it comes to writing and acting in comedies - he is bad at writing horror though

reply

McBride helped wrote an Exorcist sequel?! Oh man

reply

He helped write all the Halloween movies too

reply

Halloween 2018 was good.

The sequels didn't work for me.

Let's hope there's some learning from this. Otherwise they'll both be left out of good opportunities.
