John David Washington

I wonder if Denzel's son is finally going to try to act in this film.

reply

No, he doesn't. This guy neither inherited his dad's handsomeness nor his talent.

reply

True.

reply

Mf has no range.

reply

Definition of nepotism, he would never get roles if it wasn’t for his dad.

reply

That's true for a lot of actors.

reply

Yeah, did not happen.

He has face for it. And charisma. But then looks blatant and boring on screen. "Boring" is definition of his acting.

This is why I dont read on moviechat about movies I havent seen yet

I'll enjoy a movie quite happily , and then come here to find out it was actually terrible!
usually its woke bitching ,
this time its mainly this guys acting . I didnt know he was denzils son , and that doesent matter .
I barely knew he was an actor . I just sat down , enjoyed the film with this black guy as the main character.

At no point was my suspension-of-disbelief broken due to wooden acting or "lack of range" , probly because i immersed myself in the movie rather than look for faults - you have to help them to help you .
He did fine imo

I liked the movie too and agree about the over the top moaning on here and other sites.

I also agree Washington's getting a bit of a bad rap here, I don't think he's a great actor but he's adequate. He's not actively sabotaging movies, he's just not some generational talent that'll win academy awards. No big deal.

You can't immerse yourself in the story if the main character in it is stiff as a corpse!

reply

I liked him in everything I've seen from him so far; even Amsterdam!
