Make Kate Bishop Gay, You Cowards

With Hailee Steinfeld involved, it's inevitable

Hear me out on this one, okay? I could pick any character out of a hat and argue that they should be made gay in the next instalment, but I do actually have a case here beyond ‘I like gays’. I don’t think Hawkeye episode six will confirm anything one way or another - although they won’t know if true love’s first kiss with Yelena will work until they try it - but moving forward, Bishop is going to be a major figure in the MCU, and making her queer would be a huge signal of intent.

Kate Bishop is part of a new wave for the MCU, with Endgame offering something of a reset for the box office behemoth. Before Hawkeye aired, I wrote in reaction to Black Widow that I felt Bishop would be the key to Phase 4 and beyond, especially with Florence Pugh’s Yelena involved. After seeing Kate and Yelena meet in episode five, I’m even more convinced.

I agree, they will never have a better shot at a same-sex relationship being accepted by the mainstream mass audience!

Kate and Yelena have great chemistry together, they're hilarious and interesting, the straight guys think they're hot together, they're both badasses who'd make a great action team, and I started shipping them after their first scene. And they're both isolated people who need some love and who deserve a bit of happiness, it's already clear that they're drawn together.

And this is one case where there couldn't be any complaints that they're messing with characters that have been established as straight, neither one of them has ever shown any interest in a man, and they both wear combat boots to formal events for God's sake. It'd seem totally natural.

How do you know she's not? She could be also Bi , If she didn't like being intimate with another woman she would have turned down her role in the "Dickinson" show

So her playing a lesbian character in one show means she must be a lesbian in real life and this somehow also makes it mandatory for her to play a lesbian in anything else she does? I'm not quite following the logic there.

obviously she read the script before accepting the role , if she was uncofortable with those kind of scenes she would decline to be part of the show.

If I got a Hollywood film sized paycheck, I sure as hell would have worked passed my eventual issues with kissing a dude, and done the best I've could have mustered. Because acting is pretending do be someone you aren't.

There is no logic. Hailee Steinfeld is not gay. She accepted a role and played a character. Eric McCormack played a gay character for over a decade on Will & Grace. In real life, he's straight as an arrow with a wife and kid.
