It proves one trope right at least. Scantly clad women is all the armor she needs to protect against most things. She is a god as well no? Don't think she needs meat for that. Also I don't think that a meaty amazon like woman (though she is amazonian no?) would look well for horny males.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but I see it this way. Size matters not. When imbued with mystical energies, someone who looks like a hundred pound librarian could do astounding things. And Diana Prince has those abilities. And remember that in Golden Age Superman, it was explained that Superman's body was so much more molecularly dense than Earth people that it gave him super strength and invulnerability.
And then you have Hulk punching a Chitauri war machine and knocking it over. Yes, it is science fiction, but you can do anything in science fiction.

I don't even have mystical energies, am kinda skinny, but can lift a dude of 90kg. AM NOT EVEN HALF DIVINE.

She looks like she does in the comics.

Many of Diana's fellow Amazons in the film were clearly ripped or bulky. Diana is obviously fit and active but she has not developed the muscle tone apparent in someone with less suppleness of tissue or greater weigh and muscle bulk.

She has the flexibility, agility and strength to be a warrior after the Amazon mold but the central reality is that she is a goddess with power that gives her 100 times the potency of any human ability. Her Amazon upbringing allows her to channel that in a fearless and ethical way.

This is giving me old man nostalgia for when everyone was bitching that Christopher Reeve was way too skinny to play Superman....

reply

I am with you Aaron. Christopher Reeve was perfect as Superman! His size looked great to me. I never once thought that he was too skinny.

Sex sells... so the male superheros look like they work-out at least and the female ones are pretty... pretty requires thin in western society these days... Gal Gadot is more than hot enough as is

Skinny men are not particularly attractive. Therefore these movies require their actors to get in shape... but having said that some comicbook characters are not as "big" as they should be, e.g. Chris Hemsworth's Thor is a bit on the small side for that role and the new Black Panther guy is actually pretty small and almost dorky looking (thin neck)...

The spiderman ones don't follow this tendency either... but he is supposed to be an adolescent so can get away with being normal looking

For those who say Wonder Woman doesn't really need a healthy looking body as she has magical powers, would they be o.k if DJ Quall https://moviechat.org/nm0702809/DJ-Qualls played superman as he gets his powers from the sun.
