Why did Patrick hire a street hooker?
Why'd he hire a street hooker in addition to the high-class call girl? Surely he could've afforded two high-class escorts.

shareBateman is a man of two minds, the implicit and the explicit. He is socially conditioned to say all the right things, "We have to end apartheid", while being a serial killer. Reminds me of other high powered people such as George Bush and Obama who would always say nice things about Muslims, "Islam is a religion of peace", while mass murdering every country in the Middle East. Then there is Bateman's idol Trump who is now the opposite saying Muslims are a threat, while refusing to continue the regime change program againt Syria. Brett Easton Ellis seems to be a fan of Trump. There is a lot of humanity to this movie. 10/10
shareHe could have easily had 2 of the finest ones but I think he wanted the best of both worlds, and in the end it made more of a difference. The street girl was no frills and very stubborn while the high priced girl did what she was asked and got the least punishment. He coulda easily had another one of her kind but it woulda took the fun out of it for him. He wanted a struggle so in that end it could give him an excuse to make them both especially the poor one to suffer, and for one to not work fully it wouldn't have given him incentive to be mean.. at least how I took it.
The street girl was bottom of the line but at least the high priced one was worth it.. she followed everything and behaved. I guess that's why she put the strap on on and took it to the poorer girl while she was getting it from Patrick (if she had one on, couldn't honestly tell.) She came out the best.. just the broken nose. The poor girl got it worse..
But the street one was repeat customer and did do what he wanted. He also chased her.
