Was this movie a realistic depiction on the police in the 50s?

.

reply

Exaggerated. My dad was a cop in 1953. He never planted a gun or beat anybody up.

reply

Uh huh! Do you think dirty cops go home and tell their kids about how hey shot a man in cold blood and planted evidence?

reply

Yeah, you're right. He probably did that stuff. It was the '50s.

reply

Some cops are bad. Most are not. Would you go see a movie about cops who are honest?

reply

Yes. Serpico.

reply

Serpico is a movie about exposing bad cops

reply

Excellent response.

reply

Maybe watch Serpico again. He's the honest cop, who won't take money from the "bad cops," as you put it. Its focus was on him, not on the bad cops. Therefore, a movie about an honest cop.

reply

I’m sure there were dirty cops, I have a hard time believing however it was to the level the movie depicted but still very entertaining

reply

Yes. "End of Watch" was an excellent film about honest cops.

reply

Thanks for clueing me in. Seems like an interesting film and apparently was successful.

reply

Always glad to pass along good film recommendations. Hope you enjoy. It's a tough watch, but meaningful.

reply

I think corrupt cops who break wooden chairs with their bare hands and then stick their gun in a suspect's mouth while yelling at the top of their lungs at them are more entertaining than honest nice cops.
