Pam Grier's acting ruined the entire movie

Goddamn she sucks. Not even an ok performance, it was awful from start to finish. Her on screen presence is *beep* irritating. She singlehandedly ruined a classic.

I think this is one of Tarantino's best movies, but yeah, Pam Grier is not a very good actress.

reply

I think so too. Tarantino has made a lot of bad ones but this one is one I think of when I think of his quality work.

I think Pam Grier is a good actress and very hot and I liked her in this role.

Say what you want. I dont see many women pulling her roles off.

Just watched it again and you're still wrong in 2019.

Grier was great in this movie. My favorite Tarantino film by far.

reply

She was wooden, and the movie was wasaaaasaaaaay too long, a real snoozefest because it was so badly edited. Then, too, I was never interested in the Blacksploitation movement. I’ll never watch this thing again; but, if you enjoy it, more power to you.

Really??? Pam, Robert Forester and Sam L. Jackson were the best things in this film. The film fails if she isn't great and thank god it doesnt cause it's actually behind Pulp Fiction as my favorite Tarantino film. It's his most mature work, and I don't understand why it doesn't get the love like his other films do.

She was great. Probably Tarantino's best movie and a lot of it was because of Grier.

She was a little weak near the end during the scene at the mall and the aftermath, but otherwise I had no problem with her performance. She did do an irritating thing with her mouth the whole movie through, though.

reply

I like her but I do recall thinking that she seemed off quite a bit when I saw this in the theater so many moons ago (and only once ever. Even though I liked the movie)
