One of the worst beating scenes I've ever seen!!

The more I watch this movie, the more I enjoy it. However, the ending is just too brutal for me. When it gets to that point, I have turn away. This has to be one of the most graphic, intense beating scenes I have watched. Not that I want to see it, but is there another scene from any other movie that's more brutal than this?? I can't imagine anything being worse than this beating.

I agree. And then burying them alive on top of it. I don't consider myself squeamish but seeing it once was enough.

I can watch pretty much anything. Even video of people actually being beaten to death. But for some reason I find the scene in the film viscerally disturbing. I don't ever rewatch it. It feels like reliving my death. It's weird.

The Passion of the Christ. Even if you're not Christian, it's a fact that Joshua bar Joseph (the actual name of the person we call Jesus) was scourged and nailed to a cross, the skin practically flayed from his back by a cat-'O-nine-tails with bits of bone and metal at the ends.

That movie is close, but is NOT as brutal as an actual crucifixion was back in ~30A.D.

I saw it once, but I cannot watch it again.

This movie? No big deal. A Man Called Horse was much more brutal

The unrated Robocop when you find out how Alex Murphy became Robocop.

reply

Yea it is pretty bad and what's worst is that gangsters routinely beat the shit out of people with baseball bats.

But I've seen much much worst.

But why give a list that'll leave you disturbed rather than for your eyes.

reply

This scene could have been worse. We could have seen Dom become mentally disabled while the gangsters mock him.

reply

yea but I think they tried to go to the point and make as quick as they could because the movie was already long enough and most people didnt like the over violence though it had a lot of it it was still edited it down.

reply

I think the scene should have been even shorter because I noticed that there was a jump cut from Nicky having a clean face to a bloodied face when he sees Dom getting beaten.

reply

I haven’t seen Inglorious Basterds mentioned. The baseball bat wielding Donny Donowitz clubbing the nazi officer to death is right up there for me (although he had it coming)

reply

Same. Great movie, but that scene is just brutal. It looks to real and I don't enjoy watching it; so I don't. The sounds don't help either.

reply

Just knowing that they used rubber bats made it barely tolerable for me, but the scene intrigues me because of what was left out. Halfway through Dom's beating, we see Nicky's bloody face but we don't know how it got bloodied or why the two thugs are no longer forcing him to watch, or why he's not trying to resist like he was before.

Negan killing Glenn in TWD was really rough to watch--not sure I could watch that again. And the way he was still coherent enough, right before dying, to say what he says to Maggie was just heartbreaking.

I rarely get disturbed by movie violence. But that scene in Casino....I'll never watch it again. I have brothers, and let me just say...I was so disturbed walking out of that gd movie. I can't believe how many sick bastards rave about how much they love and enjoy Casino. Not to mention...it has one of the OTHER sick-ass, disturbing scenes I hated seeing, and will never watch again: that effin vice scene.

reply

I was cheering during that scene. Nicky's character was so evil that he had it coming.
