Furlong's acting

I'm surprised none of the film criticism surrounding T2 has picked up on one of the major flaws. The boy's acting seems so poor to me, now. It's as if he is just reading out lines from the script. Is it just me who feels this way?

reply

He was a kid.

It's 23 years later and he's still be discussed.

Not bad..for a drug addict.

Check out American History X, I made the same complaint. Worse there as he narrates part of the movie. His acting is like he is reading.

reply

It's really not, he was fine in that movie. You all exaggerate.

reply

I'm not the biggest fan of Edward Furlong as an actor but liked his performance as John Connor in T2.

reply

From what I understand he was just a random off the street, the casting director is an idiot or he knew the script was terrible and anyone could be John Conner.
Furlong, no longer being an actor after this movie to any degree, shows he was just a casting director's mistake.
Whiny voice didn't help.

I hold nothing against Mr. Furlong, he is not a good actor and wish him well. More well than what I hear they did to him in this latest Terminator movie.

reply

I like him. Guess it's a matter of taste.

reply

You all completely exaggerate. He was perfectly fine in the movie. That last scene wouldn't have worked where the T-800 terminates itself if his performance was that bad.

reply

He's a great actor. Maybe you mean the part he played, which was an obnoxious teen. That's what he was supposed to be. Have you seen his other films? Before and After is one I'd recommend.

reply

Today it doesnt sound to good, didn't mind back in the day
