It's always seemed ridiculous to paint a character as insecure and unattractive and petty and then to turn around and make him the show's lothario who dates many attractive women.

Newman actually didn't do too bad for himself, all things considered.

Remember the episode where Jerry discovered he was getting Newman's sloppy seconds? That must have been a tough pill to swallow.

The idea of someone getting "laid too often" is such a Puritanical idea to begin with. Why limit people?

The point is it was way too unrealistic. But then, so are most comedy shows.

Come on now--chunky, short, bald, irascible guys in their late thirties who live with their parents get laid by semi-model-level women in their twenties all the time.
