Steve Martin Was 42?!

He looks 52 or older in this. Hell he looked 52 when he was 32. Did he ever mention when and why all
his hair turned gray so early in life?

The ironic thing at the time of this filming is John Candy was the married one with kids and Steve Martin was single until after this was filmed. He never had a kid until he was like 70. He’s mid 70s now chasing around a friggin 4 yr old.

In addition to the gray hair, his clothing choices and on-screen personality made him seem older

And he had white hair even before this, in his 30s!😲

I agree he looked older than 42 in this movie, I'm currently 41 and I look a lot younger than that, John Candy here was only 36 at the time and I even look younger than he did in this movie.

It happens. I knew a guy who had salt & pepper gray/black hair in Middle School. Surprisingly, girls loved it. He got tons of play in Jr. High and High School, and he was pretty much fully gray by the end of High School.

MY UNCLE WAS LIKE THAT...FULL GREY BY THE TIME HE HIT HIGH SCHOOL.

Martin´s grey hair only makes him seem older but he has quite a youthful looking face in this film. Candy seemed way older than 36 though

Despite his hair, he has good skin. I'd put him as 46 if I had to guess. 50 year olds have different skin.

I thought his wife and kids seems a bit young for a man that age...didn't realize he was only 42.
