Or is it recycled into the system?

Barclay was always volunteering for that duty for some reason.

It's recycled into the food replicator.

I have wondered the same thing. having sex with a holographic girl just seems weird, but I guess it would be normal in the 24th century. honestly, you could just live in a holodeck and program a great life for yourself.

I don't care how good the air recycling is on the Enterprise, the holodeck would stink of sex when the next family came in to have a nice holiday.

Anyway, as cleaning robots exist now, I assume that's what swept the corridors and decontaminated the holodeck.
