Another movie people only praise because of nostalgia and not because it is really that good

Getting tiring to see the number of movies like this

STUPID POINT IN A STUPID POST BY A STUPID PERSON.

Actually, I like it a bit more now than in 1986 when it was released.

Don't state your opinions as if they're objective facts.

This movie is a masterpiece of 80s cinema, a love letter to Hong Kong films, and a seamless blend of action, comedy, and fantasy. It's a modern day western, with mystical elements, bad ass martial arts, charming/memorable characters, and incredibly sharp and witty dialogue.

Sorry don't like it, but frankly it's one of the best films the 80s produced, and that's saying a LOT. It's certainly one of John Carpenter's very best, which is also saying quite a bit.

This movie still fucking holds up lol

No nostalgia here. I saw it for the first time over the weekend and loved it. Great flick. Hilarious and action-packed with lots of cool weirdness. Kurt Russell's doofus action hero is a hoot.

I remember many critics at the time did that stupid " this movie cannot decide if it wants to be comedy, horror, fantasy, martial arts " etc.

So apparently a movie can only be one genre.

Absolutely no reason why movies cannot and should not mix genres. I think that's part of the fun and charm of this movie.

this movie kicks ass!!!

It has nothing to do with nostalgia, and everything to do with Kurt Russel being one of the most entertaining actors to ever grace the screen. Carpenter’s wonderful direction certainly doesn’t hurt either.
